Edit: In response to the comment from the owners: thank you for your response. While I understand there was no āvisible signs to orderā, as I was standing there at the front kiosk, there was no greeting, no acknowledgement. This is what Iām stating. Felt as if I was bothering them in order to PLACE my order in the first place. The drink was okay, but the fact that I felt unwelcomed is what is bothersome. Maybe this was one instance. I hope other patrons do not experience what I had :/ but by the looks of other Google reviews, itās seems like service may be a repeat offense. I had to take this place down a notch. Thereās plenty of other bubble tea and waffle places fortunately, and I do like Gongachaās selection, so maybe itās just this location. The staff probably just needs a disciplinary training cause Iām sure they get annoyed and overwhelmed by the amount of people since it is in a food court.
Original: So, while there are signs notably stating cannot order on the kiosk, as a customer I was left confused because the girls that were there at the time didnāt greet, didnāt acknowledge, didnāt assume that I wanted to order. So I only asked if I was supposed to order at the kiosk just so I can get the attention of the service workers.
A simple, āHi, let me know when youāre ready to orderā would have sufficed. The service was definitely not there, I wasnāt even sure if the girls were on the clock. Felt guilty trying to order.
One girl was out on the counter trying to take...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been going to GongCha for about two months now. Every Thursday after Young Naperville Singers, it has been a tradition for me to take my daughter there for Stawberry Slushie Boba. So much so that the cashier knew exactly what we wanted around 8:40pm-ish every night. This past Thursday we got there around 8:40pm and went to order, a new cashier said they shut down the Slushie mixers already and that they "were closing in 4 minutes". I'm sorry, "Wha'??" They had at least 20 min before closing and I have had no problems getting a drink for my daughter the last 4 times around that time. Also, she seemed pretty rude to my daughter about it. Well, guess what... I went down to another Boba place at Danada West and they were fantastic! So friendly and delightful. That very night i got my daughter her Boba and they got themselves a permanent new customer! Sorry Gongcha...train your evening cash lady on Thursday nights more thoroughly because you will lose...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk ok. Enough showing off, Naperville. We got a Gong Cha before Chicago did?!?!? Heck yes! Because of this fact, Iāve been coming almost every other week and am soooo happy that this insanely popular Taiwanese chain has made it to their bustling location in the H mart food court. Their teas are high quality and really good flavors to choose from.
The reason why I dock off a star, is how theyāre adapting to increase clientele and busyness, which I hope they should have anticipated in their soft opening. No larges because not enough ingredients to accommodate customers? Crowds of people waiting for drinks standing scattered around the food court? If space were an issue, my latter comment would be a HUGE deal as every time Iāve went, Iāve had to wait upwards of 10 minutes along with throngs of people waiting too.
I hope they get into the hang of speeding things up without compromising quality. They are a gem to Naperville...
