Jam Rock BBQ Jerk — Restaurant in Naperville

1 star and its too bad I couldn't give them a zero. I ordered through grubhub for a pick up at 12pm. Grubhub said the order would be ready between 1250pm and 1:05pm. I arrive at the location at 1250pm. Upon my arrival the guy behind the counter said they are working on my fries and it will be a couple of minutes. I said okay. Seeing as the place was empty I figured 5 more minutes and my stuff will be ready. 1pm arrives and nothing. 1:10 arrives and nothing. 1:15 Finally another employees emerges from the back. At first she didn't want to acknowledge me. So I stood right at the counter and knocked on the glass. I asked whats taking so long. She said its almost done. During my wait I could here the staff talking and laughing the entire time. It's now an hour and 15 minutes since the order was placed and still no food. I wait 10 more minutes which puts us at 1:25pm. Had I not paid in advance I would have just left. At this point I ring the bell and ask for a refund. This time the guy says it's going on a plate now. He said we like to make sure the food is fresh so it takes time. I explain the time line to him and said this takes too long. So he said my best bet is to order by phone in advance. I said I ordered by grubhub more than an hour ago. Are you telling me that calling is better than using the online service? All I heard was stuttering and excuses from that point. He offered me a free pop for my wait. All of his talking was just a stall tactic. The food came out at 1:30pm. I can honestly say that I will never ever give them my business again. An hour and a half is too damn long to wait for food when the place is not even busy. The fact that it was around lunch time and they had no customers speaks volumes. Never ever again. The food is not worth the wait...

I wanted to love this place so much because their menu reads like fire! However, the food was inconsistent. The jerk chicken lunch with cabbage/carrots and peas/rice was extremely flavorful, tender, and delicious - 5 Stars! The rib tips were dried out as if they'd been at least a day old and reheated. The cabbage and carrots were the best I've ever had with the spice balance being perfect! The Mac & Cheese was bland, but some salt helped a bit. The portion sizes were HUGE!! Great value for the money, but needs to be consistent. The service should have been 1 star, but everyone has a bad day in case this was not the norm. The young man behind the window didn't smile or say hello. I told him I was there for a pickup and he walked away without a word. I sat down to wait, and although the app was marked that the order was finished, I waited at least another 20 minutes, and he never said anything to me like...it'll be a few more minutes. They were busy, so I get it, but a kind word, greeting, smile goes a long way. He was the face of your business. I felt like he was put out to get up and check on my order in the back. The couple who sat in front of me were talking about it as well, "Wow, that was cold. Sorry we had to bother him with our order." The chicken and cabbage was good enough for me to try again, but dang, be kind and appreciate the people giving you their hard earned money, just as we should be kind to you for making us delicious food. Based on your reviews, you should stop giving customers some of the day old food...they can obviously tell. I do wish you the best of luck and my critique was in the spirit of helping,...

Have tried this place 3 times

1st. It took 20 minutes to get my food, 1/4 chicken, which I chalked up to them being new to the area and starting out. After getting home I realized they didnt give me sauce or bread, just dry chicken.

2nd I went on lunch break to get 2 tacos. Still took 20+ minutes but the food was decent so I figured maybe next time just call ahead, it'll be worth it.

Today, called them at 1pm, they stated it would take 20 minutes. I expected and planned for this. Then why. When I arrive at 1:25pm is the food still not done. There are 2 other patrons waiting as well. No one even came out to greet me until 5 minutes after I rung the service bell. In which they confirmed my order and immediately walked away without ringing me up or anything. I waited until 1:45 to receive my order and the other 2 patrons who I needed up talked to ordered in person around the time I called in.

This is unacceptable. If mcdonalds can handle 20+ orders and still crank out properly cooked food. Why does it take this place 45 minutes to mae 2 simple tacos and ONE CHICKEN WING.

These people are amateurs. And not in the sense that they arent a franchise. In the sense that they have no concept of customer service, wait times, proper management, and just basic decency.

Avoid this place like the plague THE OVERPRICED FOOD IS NOTH WORTH WASTING YOUR TIME.

Theres a 7eleven next door. A Panera cross the street. A subway and wendie as well as mcdonalds further down the street. Go to any of them and I guarantee you, you wont wait 30+ minutes for sub par food.
