We are in town for the burger festival. And I really wanted wings so I got delivery from grubhub, so I can not comment on the service of the restaurant or the atmosphere.
I ordered the cheesy Italian beef with sweet peppers, $13.99 , 10 traditional wings - garlic parm, extra crispy and extra sloppy, $17.49and a 6 pack of sodas.. $6.49
The wings were cooked perfectly, and seemed like the are semi breaded. The sauce for the wings , however, is non existent . They are basically dry with no flavor . Highly disappointing, and I mean even if they didn’t want to make them sloppy , you still could have put some sauce on them and not just sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. The size of the wings are large also . But dang , put sauce on them . Smh .. and I forgot to mention , they only gave me 2 flats out of 10…
The Italian beef I thought was going to be a sandwich, but it’s basically a small calzone.. not mad , just caught off guard . It also is cooked well , with fluffy dough , however , it’s mostly cheese , with maybe 3 oz of meat in the entire “sandwich”. Complete ripoff. If I was in the store I would open it and show a manager . And I never complain at restaurants as I am in the industry but this is uncalled for. Charge more and put meat inside if that’s the issue ? But to charge that and have it be basically cheese , major fail .
The food seems like it could be GREAT however to me atleast, they fell short on the crucial aspects of these 2 items , sauce on wings ( I mean they are wings, they should have sauce on them , super frustrated) and the Italian beef has NO beef on it . 🤣
I’d try it again because maybe they were just rushing but the food definitely has...
Read moreOrdered thru Uber Eats because I saw they had a buy one get one deal on a medium pizza. I’ve had their pizza before and it was very good but this particular time they cancelled my order as I was on my way to the restaurant. No phone call to me with an explanation, nothing. They weren’t closed, I saw customers enter and exit when I arrived. So I was left scrambling to figure out an alternative for my son and I as I had a delicate timeframe I was working within for our dinner and plans for the evening. Huge inconvenience and I won’t be ordering from here again whether by calling in an order or thru Uber Eats.
Edit You can read the owners response below. I received a phone call from Uber Eats at 8pm, approximately 90 minutes after I placed my initial order and approximately 80 min or so after I saw it was cancelled. They told me Papa Rays contacted them to let them know that they accidentally cancelled the order but it was indeed made and I could pick it up if I wanted to. This did me no good as I was already back at home and eating the pizza I had to order from another restaurant. I do appreciate the owners response to my review and perhaps will consider trying them again but until then my one star rating will remain as this was still a major...
Read moreAs soon as the employee handed me my deep dish pizza and I felt the weight of it... I sensed something was wrong. When I started eating the first slice, immediately my intuition was verified. There is significantly less cheese and crust in this deep dish pizza than the last time I had one. I am extremely disappointed (but not surprised) that they would stoop so low. The item is still priced the same as last time, however. That's a cardinal sin in my book. Very sketchy on their part. Papa Ray's deep dish pie used to be a whale of a pizza ...it was the best I'd ever had...and now it's below average. Talk about shortchanging your customers. And all to save a few bucks. They must be struggling financially or simply have gotten greedy. If need be, modestly raising prices but consistently offering the same product ur customers are familar with.... is acceptable. Substantially decreasing the portion size/ altering the recipe of an item... while keeping the prices the same... and not telling your customers that, beforehand... is deceptive & unacceptable. Needless to say, i do not plan on patronizing Papa Ray's...
