Cosmos Ristorante & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Naples

With such high reviews, I expected a phenomenal meal, but instead it was miserable at best. We walked in, and waited to be directed where to go. Finally, a guy fingered us to follow him. He said "Anywhere." .. We sat and looked at the menu, and we were ready to order. Unfortunately, our waiter wasn't. He went, grabbed a beer. Came to the table, gave us water. Left without any word, even when I started to speak to tell him we were ready. Once we finally were able to order, we patiently waited.

Respectfully our food arrived fast, and the appetizers we're good. Unfortunately, our pizza was horrible. The "pan" pizza was nothing more than hand tossed dough pushed into a rectangular pan. Not really worth the extra fee.

What made matters worse is the crew chit chatting with each other, but completely ignoring us. Drink refills? Practically had to beg. And heaven help if you expected ice.

What offended me most was that the other waiter that 'helped' was oblivious. We asked for a box, and he took away the single slice we had on the pan, and left the plates of food. We wouldn't have minded even them giving us a box to empty our food into, but instead, he left with the last slice, boxed it up and put it in a bag. He was dumbfounded when we started to open the bag to put our other food in.

When I went to pay, our waiter disappeared, so I handed the check to the other waiter. He went into the bar, yelled out for the first waiter, and after a few moments, put the check back on the table and said 'You wait. "

We have eaten at Cosmos several times, however our last visit was not the best. We went a few days ago with another couple. One had the chicken marsala which had a lot of mushrooms, one had the veal parmigiana, one had penne with sausage, broccoli, and spinach, and I had pappardelle with sausage and mushrooms. The chicken and veal dinners were good although the sauce was bland, the penne was bland too, and the pappardelle was just ok. The first issue was that the pappardelle was a small portion for $28.95 and was much smaller than the chicken and veal entrees I mentioned it to the waiter who offered to bring more but then did not. The manager stopped at our table and I told him the same thing. He said "That is the portion size and if you want more I will have to charge you for it", which I did not agree to. On the way out, our friend told the manager he didn't handle the issue well and he rudely replied "That is the portion we serve and that's the way it is". She told him that I was going to write a review and he said "Whatever". Also all of us always need a box for our "leftovers", and none of us had "leftovers" so some of the entrees are not that large for the prices they charge. I hope the owner has a discussion with the manager regarding his attitude towards...

Went here with my boyfriend while visiting Naples and they had EXCELLENT food but absolutely HORRIBLE service. As a waitress, I am usually more sympathetic to servers who are busy because I understand but there was only one other table in the restaurant when I was there and the server was nowhere to be found the entire night. She started off good by getting us drinks, taking our appetizers order, and telling us that bread would be out shortly. Our drinks were almost empty when the appetizer came out, by the food runner, and still no bread. We completely ate our fried calamari (which was delicious) before our server ever came back to our table. She finally takes our food order and still no drink refills or bread. 20 mins later our food comes out and we had to tell the food runner to get us drinks and bread. Food was again very tasty! Halfway through eating and our server finally does her job. I was so annoyed that we didn't even want to stay for dessert. Also, as we were waiting for the check, we overheard her telling a table that just came in about specials that they had that night which she failed to tell us about. If I'm ever in Naples again I'll pick up my food from here rather then waste my time being served. Please retrain...
