Ambiance & Vibe: The atmosphere was on point—the décor, lights, music, all gave that perfect lively vibe. When the live band wasn’t playing, their curated playlist kept the energy just right. The band itself was good, though a little low-energy (maybe because the restaurant wasn’t packed). Still, it fit the mood.
Service: Our server was super friendly and attentive. No complaints there. Small heads up: the floors are a bit slippery if you’re in heels—especially if you plan to dance. Also, when I booked, I was told there would be a DJ on Friday nights, but turns out that only happens Saturdays. A little disappointing, but now I know.
Drinks & Food: •My Tequila Mule ($16 with 1800) was strong, balanced, and well made. Pricey, but worth it. •For apps we tried calamari, fried cheesy yuca bites, empanadas, and stuffed tostones. The yuca bites were a standout—so good! Empanadas were decent. The other two? Way too salty for me. •Entrees: the meat platter and chicken dish got raves from my friends. I ordered Ropa Vieja with Moro rice—but the Moro was extremely dry. I swapped for white rice, which was much better.
Birthday Celebration: This was a highlight. They really make you feel special—chorros with ice cream and sauces (AMAZING), sparklers, music, clapping, and even my name lit up on a sign. Such a fun touch!
Things to Know: • 3% service fee if paying by card (not a fan—restaurants shouldn’t do this). • Groups of 6+ automatically get 20% gratuity added (standard).
Overall: Would I go back? Yes—but more for the music, drinks, apps, and desserts rather than the entrees. The food felt overpriced and not super authentic, but the vibe, drinks, and birthday energy made it a...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked into La Trova, I knew I was in for a special experience. The atmosphere was vibrant yet welcoming, setting the perfect tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable meal.
To start, I ordered the Garbanzo Frito and the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp—both were absolutely outstanding. The garbanzos were perfectly cooked to perfection, while the shrimp delivered a perfect balance of smoky bacon and succulent seafood flavor.
For my main course, I had the Branzino, and it was nothing short of fantastic. Delicately cooked and beautifully presented, the fish was fresh, flavorful, and paired perfectly with its accompaniments.
La Trova exceeded all expectations with its exceptional food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance. I’ll definitely be back—and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier...
Read moreThis restaurant opened recently, but unfortunately the overall experience was deeply disappointing. While the atmosphere was acceptable and the waitress attentive, the food itself fell far below even basic expectations.
The dishes were served cold, bland, and poorly executed. Both the chicken and lamb were tough, flavorless, and entirely lacking in proper seasoning. The moro rice was dry, hard, and unpleasant. The cocktails, though not the worst, were simplistic and forgettable.
Furthermore, the portion sizes were inadequate given the prices, making the value for money completely unjustifiable.
In conclusion, there are numerous restaurants in the area offering far superior food at the same price point. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a quality dining experience. It was, quite frankly, a...
