Stopped at Pastrami Dan's for the first time today for lunch. I was with my wife, we weren't terribly hungry, so decided to split a pastrami on rye. I had read some reviews online, so was a bit unsure of what I'd discover. The person complaining about the "Fatstrami" in their review either got something entirely different from us, or they don't understand that marbling in meat equals flavor! Our hot pastrami on rye was great. Great spicing, nice and moist, not overcooked. I started conversing with the owner, talked with him a bit about online reviews, and he remarked they take them all seriously. I jokingly told him we didn't care for the pastrami, then laughed as I handed him our baskets picked clean of any remnants! He laughed then told his mom working the line we didn't like it, to which she spun around to face him as he cracked a big smile and laughed! She remarked how he shouldn't give her such a scare. These people care, and seem like they will do anything within their power, if what you get isn't perfect. They wanted to make sure we tried the roast beef, so gave us a little on a plate along with some gravy... it was pink, moist and tasted great. The prices aren't cheap, but they are making quality pastrami and roast beef. I'll definitely be back to this lovely locally owned business staffed with...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews, I'm just happy I didn't see anyone compare this place to Katz or anything in NYC. I love pastrami so I figured I'd give it a try. The service was very friendly, the atmosphere pretty blah. That didn't matter to me. But I shelled out $25 for a pastrami sandwich. No drink no fries. All I got was a side of Cole slaw and Russian dressing bc I asked for it "NY style ". The pastrami is crazy cheap and skimpy. It looks like it's shaved. I paid NY pastrami prices for an Arby's roast beef sandwich. Anyone who can compare this to NY should be tar and feathered. I gave it 3 bc the lady was friendly and the sandwich tasted "ok" . I'm going online tonight and ordering 2 lbs of...
Read moreDisappointed all the way around. Been coming here for years and today was truly sub par at best. Dry roast beef sandwich, even with the gravy. Cash only as usual. Please get with the times and quit being cheap on credit card processing. I ordered an Ice-tea and got a diet coke and shame on me... I didn't even bother to ask them to the correct my drink as the line got bigger and I had no time to wait further. Roast beef used to be red and tender, today was gray and dried out. I'm okay paying the ridiculous pricing, but give something that values the price. Sad thing is I even tipped you all on top of it. Looks as if this place has become a tourist trap, which again is disappointing because it used...
