McDonald's — Restaurant in Nappanee

Full disclosure. I just started working here a week ago today. I've worked many McDonald's, and I won't say it's the "worst" (actually the worst was a Walmart McDonald's in Tennessee).. but it's an understatement to say it needs improvement. I had been a manager for years at multiple stores and starting here as a crew person I guess you could say it's a kind of "quest" to improve things as best I can. Obviously it won't become a top store overnight but the build layout and it's location and it's past volume (everyone tells me that years ago it used to be a much busier store.. which I believe because it's the slowest two lane drive thru store I've ever seen.. and it has a play center, something that is getting rarer and rarer..).. so bare with me and my new team mates.. usually it's only one-two people in the kitchen and until we get sales up to justify the labor we won't be able to add many more back there, but as has been said many times before customer service is one big issue here and that will be something I personally will try to improve whether I'm stuck on the grill making sandwiches or not. The fact of the matter is this little small town depends on the commerce of our store and so many other businesses to bring in tax revenues, employ those who may not otherwise be able to find job opportunities and assist working families who simply don't have time to cook that particular night. (Not to mention feed travelers/truck drivers who need a quick bite to eat as they get to where they're going.) Right now I gave it 3 stars, (it's average on this site is 2.6 so I rounded up.) I'd like to be able to come back in 2-3 months and Change that along with the countless other customers who came here and had a negative experience.. and let me say on behalf of me (literally started a week ago but now it's up to me to do what I can to make things right) and my new team.. we apologize for the bad food, service, wait times, cleanliness standards you've had with us.. and we are trying to improve and just please bare with us, because soon you will be sure to notice us improving and will continue to do so so that we may continue to serve you and your family and our community with the most affordable food at quality that either meets or exceeds McDonald's quality standards as quickly as possible while ensuring our store is cleaner than ever and will keep trying to better serve everyone that chooses us.. nappanee McDonald's.. to feed them.. because most of all we want you...

I went through the drive through on a Saturday morning. No orange juice. The person at the window said that they have not had orange juice since may! I asked him why not and he stated that every time they fix the machine then it is down the next day. I have been there when they tell me, sorry mam but we cant make a big mac because we are OUT OF MAC SAUCE! WHAT? I have also been there when they said that they were out of ICE!! But at least the employees will tell you that you will be getting a soda with no ice. I keep going back HOPING that things will get better. So when I went in this morning, I knew I couldn't get orange juice, but when I received a COLD sausage muffin, the muffin was NOT toasted and that's when I decided I can just buy my own muffins and toast it at home and put a bob Evans patty between them and it will be better than what I had this morning. I guess the old greasy tasting hash brown was better than the sandwich. When I got to work and spoke with my co-worker if she goes to McDonalds in Nappanee anymore she stated that if I write a review then to mention the discustingly dirty drive through window all though I will say that I did not notice the window, I just noticed that no one was wearing masks or gloves while they were handling my food, so during this time of COVID, I think I will just drive on past for a while. I really think that they need new management in here or NEW OWNERS!! We used to take our children into this McDonalds years ago when they were young and we all loved it. I really wish we could get that...

Nappanee is a joke most times they are under staffed cuz they hire kids that call off work all the time. The ice cream machine is almost always down, the food is cold and it takes 45 minutes to get2 happy meals from drive thru. Really? Seriously this place just is'nt what it used to be. Whatever happened to quality fast food, and service with a smile? It took me 5 minutes to get a bottled water and all they had to do is open a drawer behind the register and grab it ,the guy behind me got his coffee before I got my water,kinda sad don't you think? And lets talk about the employees personal hygene and appearence ,very sad to smell people passing by or taking your order. Tattoos and different colored hair,doesn't anyone take pride in thier apperance when dealing with the public any more,or am I just to old fashioned about self respect? Good for them that they remodled the place but they could keep it alot cleaner in there. We had to ask for straws for our drinks tonight and there is no reason for things not to be stocked up cuz there was about five people just standing around . Very sad that people don't take pride in the little things that matter in a business as popular as McDonalds any more. Hell I've seen cleaner truck stop bathrooms cleaner than thiers, and those get pretty bad. Ok my vent is over, but it is pretty sad that people just don't have any business sense or pride in thier...
