I had two dishes from here - sesame chicken and chicken curry. After doing some research on Asian restaurants, I decided to check them out. The food was mediocre, typical American style Chinese food (which would normally warrant four stars), but the restaurant was FILTHY.
I stopped by without calling in an order since Chinese takeout should take 10 minutes, tops, to prepare. When I got there, they were somewhat busy and the 'dining' area was nearly filled with people waiting on their orders. Five minutes goes by, then ten minutes, and this guy goes up to the counter and emphatically says, "I've been here a half hour, is my food coming soon?" He was assured that it was, and was served probably 5 minutes later.
The dining are was an absolute shambles. The ceiling was dirty. The floors were dirty. The walls were dirty. The seats and tables were stick and covered with food debris. It's clear from the time I was there that 90% of their customers don't actually eat in the restaurant, so what is the excuse for having such a filthy dining area? I can tell you this - if the front of the house is that dirty, you really do not want to know what the kitchen looks like.
After 25 minutes I got my food, went home, washed my hands, and started in to my food. The sesame chicken was as expected - thickly breaded bits of chicken drenched in sickeningly sweet sauce. The chicken was tough, perhaps frozen. The chicken curry was lacking in curry flavor, although it did have a little heat. Unfortunately, the chicken was a bit rubbery.
In all, I would not recommend Mint Cafe. I've had better food from buffet bars, and I've seen cleaner...
Read moreI have been ordering from Mint Cafe ever since moving back to Nashua nearly 5 years ago.. I gave never been disappointed and actually how quick and to the point the lady on the phone is who usually takes the orders!! I used to order 3 -4 times a week from Pam Asia, sometimes I would even order multiple meals at once to treat neighbors but the last delivery from Pam Asia guaranteed Mint Cafe 100% of my business! Whenever I called Pan Asia for a delivery they would normally say it would take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour depending on how busy they were but the food always arrived hot! The last time it arrived stone cold and the 2litte bootle if Sprite exploded all over my kitchen when I loosened the cap (indicated it was either dropped or deliberately shaken)! When I called to inform them of this the manager of Pan Asia said"I told you it would be an hour so you shouldn't have known it wouldn't be hot"!! He then proceeded to tell me he didn't want my business and would no longer deliver to me! I looked back at my credit card spending and I used to spend $150-$200 a month and Pan Asia and they will never get another penny from me.. their manager is an arrogant man and rather argue with any customer that has a complaint (and my call was only to inform of the condition of the delivery)!! So, to Mint Cafe, one of your best referrals comes at the hands of Pan Asia!! To all Asian food lovers... Try Mint Cafe.. you will not be...
Read moreTheir food is awesome, and prices are reasonable. In fact, they are less expensive than most places in the area. They even deliver for only $3.00. IMO, their fried rice is the BEST in town. You can eat in, but don't expect a comfy booth or cushy chair. We prefer to eat at home. There is very little parking, but most people are there to pick up, so you would likely find a spot or have a shirt wait for one. They do their best to accommodate special requests, like 'no mushrooms'. They have their own online ordering site, or you can order through a service like DoorDash, which has additional fees. (Some people don't realize that ordering from the 'Mint Cafe' site is less expensive and only $1.00 for the online order fee, plus you have the option of paying by card or cash.) The online site won't accept the order if there is less than an hour until close, but you can call in and they may allow the order. Delivery is prompt and usually sooner than...
