My husband, a friend of ours, and myself went to this establishment after waiting a while at another restaurant and endured some very bad customer service. We were seated after only about 5 minutes on a busy Friday night so at the beginning we were confident in the outcome of our experience. We ordered alcoholic drinks and because our friend has a Vermont driver’s license, the waitress stated that it needed to be brought to the manager for verification. Okay. Weird, but okay. A few minutes later the waitress returns and tells our friend that her manager didn’t feel comfortable accepting his driver’s license due to some issues with verifying it. Our friend kindly asked to speak to the manager so that we could have a better understanding of why he was not going to accept his driver’s license.
I understand that restaurants have strict rules and regulations when it comes to alcohol and I genuinely understand the manager was just trying to follow the rules. I’ve worked in industries in which I’ve also had strict rules to follow and if they were not I could fired- I get it. However, in my experience, I have always been able to back up my reasons for denying information or a service if necessary based on facts, written policy, or evidence. The manager on this instance told us his reasoning for not accepting the ID but he was unable to factually back up his reasoning. When we questioned him, he was unable to provide us with a valid reason and blamed it on the book of guidelines they are supposed to follow.
Let me be clear that my husband, my friend, and I are all well over 21 years old, we are law-abiding citizens and would never, EVER have any reason to carry or use fake IDs.
It sounds like I’m complaining because we couldn’t order booze. Nope. I’m complaining because the manager was completely unprofessional and very rude. If we had been approached in a different manner we would not have been as put off as we were. After asking a question the manager literally said, “I don’t have time to deal with this.” Are you kidding me? Is that a joke? We’re not stupid, we can see that it is busy and dealing with this is unimportant to you, but don’t tell me you don’t have time! There are so many other, more empathetic ways that could have been said but no- he decided to be rude. I was furious. I had been over 8 hours without eating and I already waited over 30 minutes at another place after driving 20 minutes to get there. So we left this establishment after being treated like that (we had not drank or eaten anything except for the chips & salsa)
I gave 2 stars because the waitress was sweet and was definitely put in an awkward situation by having to tell us our friends ID wasn’t accepted when that should have come directly from the manager. We felt bad for making it awkward for her but not leaving the place.
Not only has our friends ID been accepted in bars and restaurants all over NH since it was issued in 2015, but it has also allowed him to board...
Read moreThis was my second time visiting Margaritas in Nashua in the last 2 years. My experience this time was awful on Mothers Day. I went with two of my friends because many restaurants were 40-60 min wait. We ordered one drink at roughly 7:30pm and ate our meal. We started talking to two friendly females at the bar about an hour later who had a few drinks at the bar. Shortly after, I went to the bathroom and I was on my phone and the bartender Destiny was about 5 feet of a distance from me and realized she was going right so I went left… she went left and I went right. As I was trying to get out of Destiny’s way, I was limping a little which she perceived that I was stumbling off of ONE DRINK. I am recovery from a knee surgery which caused me to limp and not move as fast. I said sorry, and avoided even bumping into her. I came back and the females at the bar paid their tab and they came over to sit at our table. We tried to order a drink for the table with our waitress, but was told that I almost bumped into the bartender so the waitress could not serve us anymore alcohol so we may have reached out limits which had no idea. This assumption went off of one event which included one person which generally affected a table of 5 adults. My friend approached Destiny at the bar to professionally have a conversation about why we weren’t served any alcohol and I explained what happened. It was nearly two hours since I had my first drink, and I was not intoxicated at all. I told Destiny and the gentlemen with glasses that worked there “I was of a distance and did not bump into her nor stumbled and her assumptions were wrong.” We told Destiny to ask our waitress as evidence how many drinks we had and what was on the receipt. Our evening alcoholic beverages consisted of one drink, my friend had one drink, and my other friend had two drinks (2nd was almost to 2 hours apart) and none of us were intoxicated or acting reckless in the restaurant. Us three gentlemen that visited the restaurant today are minorities and felt highly discriminated. We brought this to attention to the staff in a very professional manner. I am a disabled veteran and have worked in corporate HR for over 6 years. As a professional, I would highly suggest management to look into this for employee Destiny, and take necessary disciplinary action to include unlawful discrimination based off age, disability, and ethnicity to their customers.
I would be happy to revisit this and speak to management and corporate by email, text, or phone...
Read moreI'm actually extremely disappointed with what had the potential to be a good experience. We came here about an hour before the kitchen closed on Sunday. The place looked real nice and we saw a few couples sitting on the patio however we were told that the patio was closed for the night so we sat inside near the patio.
Our orders were taken quick and the food came out fast but the service on our table following the delivery of our food was not really there. We weren't asked how the food was, if we needed more drinks, or anything else until we had to ask for the check.
I informed them of my food allergy when I ordered and the waitress told me that they would not deliver to me in a flour tortilla. By the time my food arrived, it would have been too late to send it back but it did still come in the flour tortilla. I figured i'd just eat the middle part where it didn't touch the tortilla but it was really spicy for some reason, may have been the enchilada sauce. Ordered the taco salad which said nothing about being spicy. I immediately felt sick after about 3 bites and couldn't eat the rest. I've been fighting off horrible nauseau since coming home. It's 4 am and I just woke up and had to run to the bathroom.
I had an old account on here where I used to write decent reviews often but got locked out so I am writing this from my husbands account. His food was fine, no problems. It's rare I actually have an experience where I get sick when I go out to eat regardless of having food allergies, 90% of the time people are very cautious and courteous of it. The place seemed fine to me but they may have been annoyed that we ordered food on a Sunday evening and rushed it. We paid for the meal regardless of my allergy but sadly enough I don't think we'll...
