Radish Kitchen — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

I just found this delicious new place which is owned by Chef Amanda Frederickson.

It’s in the Sylvan Supply complex on Charlotte Pike and they specialize in fresh casual cuisine like bowls, wraps and salads plus delicious homemade frozen yogurt (true, creamy, tangy frozen vanilla yogurt, not that icy diet stuff!) that you can top with local honey or their homemade magic shell chocolate sauce. I’d say they would have decent choices for vegan, veg, pescatarian and gluten sensitive diners too.

I got the Chicken Mamacita grains bowl except I subbed salmon for the chicken (no extra charge). I am obsessed with the flavor combo. The “Mamacita” came topped with avocado, corn and black bean relish, pumpkin seeds, crumbled cotija cheese, tortilla crisps and cherry tomatoes. Plus this tangy tomatillo dressing that I could’ve eaten straight from the cup! (Make sure to get extra dressing on the side!) The yogurt with magic shell was delicious too, but I’m already craving that grains bowl again, just hours after I ate it. The textures were perfectly on point and the flavors were so balanced! I just loved it.

I am busy with moving nonsense right now so I ordered my food online and picked it up curbside while I was out running errands (and they offer $5 delivery too) but if you go to the actual restaurant they have cute outdoor seating in front. Which will be nice until it gets chilly. Oh, and it’s modern and cutely designed... even the exterior is Instagrammable if you or your kids are into that sort of thing....

The food is good but they have some kinks to work out. For example, when placing an online order for lunch (at 10:40), the earliest pickup time was 11:30 (thirty mins after they open) which seems odd to me (11:15 should be the goal imo). I placed my pickup order and called to let them know I was there but they didn’t answer their phone. I left a message but got no call back. I called a second time about five minutes later and still got no answer. I went in to wait in line to ask about my order and to ask them to bring it out to me which they eventually did - I’m just surprised. They seemed to have a lot of staff physically present behind the counter - how was no one answering the phone? You also receive texts when placing an order online and although I tried to communicate back to them via text that I had arrived, it’s unclear whether they even receive responses back.

This was my second time here. I ate the salmon bowl first. It was good but nothing special. A prior review said salmon was dry but mine was not. It’s a good healthy lunch option when you haven’t packed a lunch for work. Just wish they gave a bit more dressing and didn’t charge f25cents for extra. My friend had the falafel salad which I thought was more unique and flavorful. Today I got the lentil grain bowl which is good. Only suggestion is to add grilled or charred kale as an option. They use to be five star to me. However. Today left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I order a chicken Caesar wrap. When I got to work I realized there’s no Caesar. (Honestly, I kinda knew something was going to be wrong, they were playing around a little more today than they usually do. But I also should’ve checked.) Okay, fine. I called back and notified them. They said they will make me a new wrap and make sure that everything in it plus a cookie, as well as, door dashed it to me. I said fine okay. I got the NEW order and guess what?! NO Caesar AGAIN! Y'all were able to put a cookie in but not the dressing. I want the dressing more than I wanted a cookie. I just wanted a peaceful lunch and they didn’t give that to me.

Now when I called back, I am a little frustrated because what are yall doing?? You’ll job is not hard. You forget a Caesar TWICE. Now, I am waiting on my refund. I would hope I don’t have to make an appearance because they told me they can refund me the money without me being there. Attached is the updated order after I called, even on the receipt it says “extra dressing”. Like, if I thought ppl are out to get me then I would think they are out to get me . LOL
