Ion usually leave reviews but this has been on my heart since Sunday,April 21.... && it's Tuesday. A elderly lady passed out in the store after waiting for an hour to place an order. She appeared to be coming from church, like many of the other elderly customers in there on a Sunday at 12p. She hit the ground, concrete, face first. Busted nose and lip. Her wig rolled across the floor. Once she came to, I asked the lady was she diabetic. She replied,"yes". The unsympathetic staff member yelled from the serving line, " is that her problem? She ain't eat"? Without offering the lady anything to snack on. I requested an orange juice to give her. It was 3 months outdated.I provided first aid until the paramedics got there. I had my 2y/o with me, who was crying after waiting in line for 45 minutes herself. The same staff member complained about my baby crying while I was trying to assist the lady. Then accused me of skipping the line. I was literally providing first aid and lost my place in line🤦🏿♀️ she said somebody passed out, waiting in their line weeks before. She still charged me $17.48 after my life saving service. If you wanna support a black business, go somewhere else. The wait is way to long, they close when they want to,they constantly running outta their main sides, there are not prepared for success, && they don't care about their customers. Even if you're an elderly diabetic person that passed out after waiting in line for an hour for their mediocre azz food. They didn't offer that lady no sweet potatos or nothing. And her blood is probably still on the floor. 2 days later, I'm...
Read moreMy neighbor who’s elderly asked me to go over and pick up a plate for her , we both decided to have the chicken and dressing, mac & cheese, turnip greens and sweet potatoes. So when I get there it’s a line my total wait time was about 20 minutes to place my order as I’m waiting I over hear one of the servers say “ 10 minutes on the dressing “ so I called my neighbor to tell her so she asked me if I wanted to wait I told her I would , then a cook comes from the back and say “ 20 minutes on the gravy brown gravy “ so I called my neighbor back and tell her that it was already four people waiting on chicken and dressing with brown gravy ( which I find quite strange ) because chicken and dressing has a chicken gravy ( not brown either ) the beef tips had brown gravy and the meatloaf had brown gravy also ( all the meatloaf I’ve ever had has a tomato base on it ). So I guess you know I wasn’t waiting 20 more minutes on Brown Gravy. The meatloaf I ordered for my neighbor which looked awful and I ordered ribs ( my ribs were good ) we did get mac & cheese ( it was okay I’ve had better ) the turnip greens didn’t have a good taste nor was the cook time long enough and the sweet potatoes was so awful they had a floral / cinnamon taste to them. It wasn’t not good $23.00 going down the toilet ! Yuck ! I wish Sliver Sands was open longer on Sunday because that’s where my neighbor wanted to eat from. I will not eat...
Read moreDidn't have smoked chicken the last few times I've stopped 🥲. That only made me sad that day. No big deal. I went again a couple of days later and left very happy. Editing this week's post on 10/10/23 and feeling very disappointed. I absolutely love C&B.. atmosphere is great. Food is awesome. However, today, I left feeling some kind of way. I ordered yams with my meal. The serving pan was nearly empty and the last pieces pretty mushy. I asked if I could get some fresh, larger pieces. The young lady on the cash register told me no,they wouldn't bring out anymore until all was gone in the pan. You know, there is something called being realistic and showing appreciation for your business. She didn't have to know that I've followed them from previous locations and have been to this one MANY times. I solved my own problem by PAYING for an extra order which came out of the new pan brought out as soon as the server scraped the bottom for the juice and mashed pieces I received on my plate.Do I punish myself by discontinuing my patronage or do I chalk it up to signs of the times? I don't know. Feeling much...
