I was looking for a local bakery to find something gluten-free to satisfy my sweet tooth, and came across this gem. The parking lot is kind of small but we were able to secure rock star parking on a Saturday!! Unlike most bakeries, this one actually stays open a little later. The building is adorable and the smell that hits you when you walk inside is delightful! There were two (I think) beautiful cases filled with all kinds of goodies, cupcakes, cookies, muffins, bars... only a few gluten-free free options but most places don't have any or they're gross. But they had a Puppy Chow cookie and it was so good. BUT for the non having celiac folks (lucky) you're in for a REAL treat. Forgive me if my names are wrong but we also got a Hello Dolly (which the hubby says is to die for) a bourbon peach poptart of sorts and a galaxy brownie? I only know that the Hello Dolly is right... the other two are my best guesses. 🤭 But don't be greedy, I promise the brownies and bars are big enough to share due to the richness and sugar high. It took 2 people 2 days to eat 1 Galaxy brownie. And they look pretty! I can't tell you how pricing is, due to the fact my eyes said "PRETTY!" and stomach said "YUM" so I assume the pricing is similar to other local bakeries? I guess you'll just have to find out...
Read moreTheir nutrition information isn't available online. Isn't this illegal? Doesn't the FDA require this? Months ago I went in for a cake for my boss's daughter who ended up being allergic to almond- and when I called for exact ingredient list on the almond cake they couldn't provide it for me. I went back and got a plain vanilla (confetti cake). I explained the whole thing. They allowed me to purchase. I left. They called me and said "oops that might have almond extract in it as well." $90 in one day of cakes I could not use.
I then forgot about this fiasco and purchased some desserts on Thursday last week. By complete accident my cat knocked over the trash where the cosmic brownie was I had thrown away. My dog ate half of it. I called animal poison control and they said "we can actually calculate exact dosage if you can us the website link, all bakeries upload sizes and nutrition info at the very least we can run calculations off that." Baked on 8th doesn't. So we had no way of knowing what was in the brownie, how big it was to begin with, etc. Rushed my poor baby to the vet and paid $650 because it was a Friday night and the only place open was an emergency specialist. Yes- it was my fault that she got it- but BRO CAN YOU PUT THE NUTRITION INFO ONLINE LIKE EVERY OTHER PLACE...
Read moreHonestly, should have a negative star. I drove from Franklin this morning excited about a design for a birthday cake for my daughter. I grew up in a multigenerational bakery, so I try to support local bakeries when I can. I have purchased cakes from Baked on Eighth, and like there cake because the decorations are amazing and the cake is too. However, when I arrived this morning, the person who finally came out to the sidewalk acted as though I had assaulted her very being by showing up in person to order a cake. No I never thought to look on their website first to see that only take online orders and when I arrived to see signs posted about ordering online, I thought while surely they will take my order since I drove over 30 minutes. BUT NO! The owner was beyond rude. All I could remember was how my grandmother and mother took the details of each cake thoughtfully while making each customer feel their event was important and they were there to make sure it would be extra special. I asked several times if she would take my order as she stood by her desk outside, she flatly refused and sent...
