This review is long overdue, but like the finest homemade pasta, it takes time to perfect. So, allow me to spaghettify my thoughts on Iggy’s and make you feel as though you’ve just had the most delightful Italian meal of your life—because that's exactly what this place offers, in spades! I frequent Iggy’s weekly (yes, weekly—that’s how good it is), and every visit feels like stepping into a modern and cozy Italian kitchen where the food is so comforting. The food here is not just good—it’s a revelation. I honestly feel like I’ve been in a lifelong relationship with pasta, but Iggy’s has come in and swept me off my feet, making me question if I was ever really in love with pasta before. Every dish is crafted to al dente perfection, bringing me closer to the kind of food-induced endorphins you typically only experience after a big bear hug from someone who truly cares. I’m talking about the kind of hugs that make your heart sauce with joy. Whether you’re diving into a rich, velvety agnolotti or twirling the most divine alio e olio, every bite brings pure pasta bliss. I’ve never, and I mean NEVER, had a bad meal here. Each dish is like a symphony, and the noodle notes play harmoniously with every ingredient. But here’s the real kicker: the chefs' counter. Oh my pasta goodness, this is my go-to spot, my pasta paradise, my seat of honor. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with a smile so warm, it could melt a block of parmesan. And then, the moment you’re seated at the chef's counter, you realize: this is not just a meal. This is an experience. You’re not just a customer; you’re family. The food is prepared right in front of you, and you get to watch culinary magic unfold. If heaven had a kitchen, I imagine this is what it would look like—creamy risottos bubbling, sauces simmering to perfection, and the air filled with the tantalizing scents. Speaking of garlic—let’s talk about that garlic bread. Oh, mamma mia, it’s layers on layers of garlicky goodness, each bite taking you on a journey that’s more flavorful than a plot twist in an Italian soap opera. Stuffed with a creamy filling, this bread doesn’t just get your taste buds excited—it dances on them. It's like if garlic bread went to a spa, got a makeover, and came back as the most sophisticated, indulgent version of itself. You’ll need to order a second, trust me. Now, I know what you’re all thinking: Sure, the food is great, but what about the service? Oh, let me tell you. Iggy's doesn’t just serve food—they serve an experience, and that experience is built on exceptional service. Every time I walk through the door, I’m treated like a VIP, but not in the pretentious way—more like a cherished guest in someone’s home. Ryan and Matt have truly created something special here. The service is always effortlessly perfect, like the perfect pasta sauce—smooth, never cloying, and always just the right amount of attention. Rachel, who greets me at the chef's counter with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like you're about to have a heart-to-heart with a dear friend, is truly the cherry on top of this dining experience. She’s attentive, kind, and knows the menu inside and out, which is essential when you're trying to choose between all the delicious options! Honestly, Iggy's is the complete package—perfect food, impeccable service, and a dining atmosphere that feels more like an extension of your own kitchen. It’s a place where you’re always treated with kindness, and no detail goes unnoticed. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would. It’s a place that rises above the competition like the perfect batch of fresh dough, and every visit is another opportunity to savor the bounty of flavor they create. I highly recommend heading to Iggy's as soon as you can. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Get yourself to Iggy’s, where pasta dreams come true and service is always served with a side of love. You won’t regret it—because at Iggy’s, it’s always a pasta-tively...
Read moreWe spent the weekend in Nashville (from Louisville) and celebrated our 3 year anniversary here and we could not have picked a better place!!! The only regret I have was starting the weekend off here, the bar was set way too high for all the other places we ate at after! I’m a retired server/hostess/back of house expo and prep, and in my 10 years of restaurant experience I have NEVER had a dining experience this wonderful. I told the staff I would have to give a full description as a review and I will make good on my word: I made reservations, parked the car and walked in to see my date sitting at the bar top. I first thought “we made a reservation, why are we at a bar?”. Oh how mistaken I was. It was hands down the best seat in the house. We got to see the chefs making the food fresh! Ryan came over and introduced himself, made sure we had everything we needed, and kept us laughing nonstop. Our server, Rachel, was super attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. I will thank her for the rest of my days for explaining the menu so well and recommending the garlic bread to us (they’re famous for it!) Matthew was super sweet and talked to us about Louisville staples. Yes, even the chefs making the food made time to check on us and welcome us to the city! That’s the kind of southern hospitality I love! We shared the truffle pasta and the lemon butter pasta with the Maine clams (I completely forgot the names) and it was to DIE for. So fresh, light, and absolutely delicious. We were on the fence about dessert, but then Rachel surprised us with a soft serve ice cream over lemon and huckleberry! I could have cried! The kitchen congratulated us again and honestly I don’t know why we even considered not getting dessert, that ice cream was the softest soft serve I ever had the pleasure of encountering, and the cookie crumbs with the lemon and huckleberry was such a nice touch! It was one of our more pricier of the weekend, but worth every single penny and more. We went to another share style pasta place over the weekend and they did not even come close to Iggy’s, we couldn’t tell if we truly didn’t like it or if Iggy’s was just that incredible. It was the first place we told our friends and family about when we got back home, we already decided we will be taking another trip back to Nashville mainly for Iggy’s! Hospitality, Food, Service, Ambience, all a 12/10. Thank you...
Read moreMust have been an off night for Iggys. We flew about 1500 miles to go to two restaurants in particular in Nashville and Iggy’s was one of them. Our high expectations could have been part of the downfall of the evening. We were expecting a lot.
We love the area of the restaurant was located and we loved the vibes of the restaurant. It’s a cool unassuming Italian restaurant in a really cool neighborhood.
We were greeted at the door by a kind host. We were promptly seated. We had reservations.
Our number one item is the garlic bread! We couldn’t wait to try it and that was the reason we went there. Our server came by and informed us that they were out of garlic bread lol. It happens. Disappointing for sure but it happens.
They charge an automatic 20% up charge for the tips for their servers. I understand this thinking and actually support it, but you are always afraid that you’re going to get lackluster service because the tip is already included in that is exactly what happened with us. Our server was very low energy, seemingly unhappy. She was not real helpful. We tried to find a solution for the garlic bread like maybe using a different type of bread with some cheese and garlic. She was a little short with us and not very pleasant.
It was a bad start. Low energy lackluster approach maintained the entire meal.
We ordered a couple appetizers. The ceviche wasn’t quite ready when they served it. The shrimp was still a little gray.
The ricotta appetizer was tasty. We felt needed salt. We asked for salt and they brought us rock salt that we had to crush with our fork.
We ordered three pastas. The raviolis were absolutely delightful. You could taste a hint of lemon and all of the flavors. The pasta with black truffle was no longer on the menu so we got one with Summer truffle. You couldn’t taste any truffle flavor at all. We all ate a few slices of the truffle to see if we could taste it and it was void of flavor. Kind of disappointing, we love truffle.
The texture of the pasta was near perfect and handmade. There was not a lot that stood out on the other three sauces except the handmade texture.
The price was high, portions small.
It could have been our disappointment in the service, but we didn’t order anything else. We left and went and got some pizza. Ended up being a...
