I would give Michael more stars if I could.
Michael is obviously passionate and experienced at what he does. I am a HIIT workout enthusiast and CrossFit athlete, and I had never worked with any physical therapist before, but after months of lower back soreness, hip pain, and neck stiffness, I decided it was time to do something about the frustrating pain I was experiencing. No amount of foam rolling or stretching seemed to help.
I thought I needed some combination of a chiropractic adjustment and deep-tissue massage, but was in uncharted territory in regards to what exactly I needed. Luckily, I stumbled upon Fortitude via a blind Google search, and read about Michael. It seemed like people were experiencing similar symptoms as me, so I shot him a text.
After asking several clarifying, curious questions, Michael confirmed that he could help with the symptoms I was experiencing.
We set an appointment up for the next day, and I showed him stretches that irritate my lower back and hips. After listening intently, I could see him stare up at the ceiling working through the different muscle groups in his mind while he verbally taught me about how muscles relate to pains and the root cause of pain could be some other unexpected muscle (for example, when I told him about my back, he immediately started searching for tenderness and knots in my hips).
The next hour was the most educational and helpful time I could have spent. I wish I had called Michael months ago. Seriously. This guy cares DEEPLY about what he does and how he can serve people.
We uncovered a half-dozen knots in my hips and shoulders, and I learned that my shoulders were crooked, my left leg was shorter than my right, my hips were turned, and my lower back was simply a symptom of all of this misalignment.
Michael would push his elbow into the sore areas and constantly ask for a pain scale from 1-10. As he got closer and closer to the root of the muscle tightness, the pain simply released. Then he would take his percussive machine and massage the areas, loosening the muscles up even more. We repeated this until I felt no pain and had a full range of motion on the stretches that initially gave me trouble.
Michael asked about my time in Nashville, family, and shared a bit of his story, too. I genuinely enjoyed this session.
I walk out of his session feeling 100%. Seriously, instant relief.
Later that day I went into our local gym and pushed myself through a workout that included kettlebell swings, squats, and many other movements that had given me trouble, previously. I felt like a new man.
Michael not only relieved my pain, but educated me on how to prevent misalignment in the future, and even told me I should be okay to just do this one session with him. After this session, I trust him and will absolutely refer friends and family to him.

I stopped working out long time ago and I signed up to get back in shape but I felt some sharp pain on my left forearms close my elbow, went to couple of different massage places in town and no luck, found Michael at (Fortitude Sport Therapy) and I am glad I called him, he immediately texted me back when he was not available and asked me when would be a good time to go and see him, I got busy and forgot about making an appointment, he texted me back 2 weeks later and asking me if I feel any relief on my forearms and I was like wow, thank you for getting back with me and checking on me, made an appointment with him for next day, told him about my forearms but his skills are beyond words, he started working on my back which release tons of tension on my forearms and unbelievable .in an hour with him all the pain gone and now I feel so much better, no more forearms sharp pain, he care about his customers, he wanted to make sure I am balanced and he did a great job in making things right and super happy to find him. I have already made an appointment for next week, and I would be going there every month to make sure my body is balanced, and if there is anything out there muscle-related issue, he will find and fix you right there. Read moreRecently went and saw Michael for neck and shoulder pain. I have done years of chiropractic care as well massages and while they help, I've never felt like it fixes the actual problem. I went in with shoulder pain, one shoulder higher than the other, poor range of motion, as well as one leg being a little longer due to my hips being out of whack. He explained so well how all these muscles and ligaments are connected and pulling or turning things different ways, causing my pain. He explained everything he was doing along the way and consistently checked in with me to see if I had questions. I left feeling sore but so much better. I could tell I was standing different and even felt lighter. Shoulders were even as well as legs. My range of motion improved drastically which was so amazing to me. He checked in with me a few days later to see how I was feeling which I so appreciate. I know I'll need a few follow up appointments for my shoulder but for the first time I'm feeling really hopeful.
