Bobbie's Dairy Dip — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

I've never once felt the need to write a public review before, but my horrible experience at Bobbie's took me over the edge. When my wife and I arrived 30 minutes prior to the listed closing time, we noticed that the group in front of us had the "end of line" marker that Bobbie's staff hands to the last party they will be serving that evening. The group with the marker kindly offered to let us go in front of them so we could still be served. After that, an older couple came behind us whom we overheard had driven 45 minutes to get there. As the last group with the marker was ordering, Bobbie's staff informed the older couple that they would not be taking their order. The group who had let us go ahead of them stepped in and offered to add this other couple's order to their bill, but Bobbie's insisted that they would not serve them regardless of who paid. This all happened 20 minutes before the listed closing time. When we confronted the Bobbie's staff about this, they simply smiled and nodded. They did not acknowledge that this was wrong and heartless in any way. The other groups present also confronted the staff, and they were met with the same lack of response. It was disgusting to watch the way the staff cold-heartedly denied service to this couple right in front of their faces. They were the only other people left in line. No other groups had arrived or started to line up at all. It almost seemed like the staff wanted to make a point of denying this couple service regardless of the fact that it was 20 minutes prior to closing. The staff spent more time explaining how they would not under any condition serve the couple, than it would have taken them to just take their order. A truly disgusting experience to witness. I took my grands because I thought it would be something different from the usual ice cream chain stores. When we walked to the window to order there was so much posted on the windows we could not tell what they had to offer as far as flavors or toppings. Only a small sign that indicated sizes of cones, cups and that they offered shakes. Otherwise a mish-mash of what I would call junk on the windows that looked like it had been there for decades. Someone slid open one of the windows and I think asked us what we wanted and I asked her what flavors they had. She named three or four and I asked the grands and they just said vanilla. All three of us ordered vanilla cups. No toppings were offered by the employee which I'm sure the grands would have enjoyed. I didn't know they had toppings. We were directed to pick up our order at the opposite window. Seating is offered on the side of the building at some filthy old picnic tables and ice cream tables that weren't clean and had spilled ice cream cones, etc., on them and the ground underneath. The grands took a few bites of their soft serve and were done. The taste of my soft serve wasn't very good. Actually bland so I wasn't surprised the kids didn't want theirs. The employee that worked at the window seemed like they didn't care if we were there or not so I see no need to return. I have heard that this was a Nashville landmark but I do not know why. It's better days must be long ago...

TL;DR: No more orange cream shake + poor service.

I have some friends that live within walking distance of Bobbie's, so I've been there multiple times over the past few years. Their ice cream products are fantastic; however, my most recent visit was bad enough that I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. First off, they've recently changed their menu and no longer offer an orange cream milkshake. That was my favorite shake, so I was pretty disappointed. Instead, I ordered a chocolate peanut butter shake for myself and a drink for my wife. My friend ordered a butterfinger shake right after I placed my order. My friend received his shake within a minute of ordering, so I assumed my shake would be ready soon. After that we waited... and waited... and waited.

After 20 minutes of waiting (I checked the receipt to confirm), they finally delivered my shake and my wife's drink. My friend had already finished his shake and was waiting patiently for us to receive our order. Several people that had been in line behind us had already been served. I'm not sure what the issue was as they weren't super busy at the time. The shake I ordered tasted great, but at that point I was...
