This place is a breath of fresh air. I got the daily special herbed chicken salad croissant with a side of cornbread pudding. Also got to try the pesto grilled cheese, pimento BLT, and pasta salad. Everything i bit into was better than expected and i love that we decided to stop in here today. The cornbread pudding was amazing with plenty of roasted corn, the croissant was light and fresh, the lettuce and tomato on it was fresh, the chicken tastes like it was never frozen and you can actually taste the meat a little bit (very rare in America) with a perfect balance of herbs, Mayo, and chicken. This did not overload you with one flavor or another like most restaurant chicken salads. I had a hunch this one would be better when i walked in, and I'm SO glad i tried it. The pimento BLT has thick and slightly crispy bacon with a melty blend of cheddar and a perfectly buttered and toasted bread. Yes the lettuce was crisp and the tomato did not bleed into it. You can imagine where I'm going with this when i tell you that the pesto was homemade and just light enough on the grilled cheese to not give you an oily mouth feel but still be delicious. Oh and i almost forgot the $4 drip coffee. WAY better than most coffees in Nashville. They use Bongo coffee, which is a really good local company. If people knew about this cafe, Barista Parlor would be out of business. I'm convinced.
I love this place, and I'll be back, hopefully several times
(P.s. the in-house homemade pickles!!!! It comes with your sandwich. Try it! Even if you don't like pickles! It's different than anything you can...
Read moreI have been here just twice (so far), but I am in love with this place. The café has such a cozy feel, complete with pillows along the bench seating and dark, homey wood furniture. Noise from guests is not so overwhelming, but there’s enough of it that you don’t feel like you have to whisper so as not to disturb anyone. The whole atmosphere is very warm, in general. I am in love with the farmhouse breakfast bowl. I get it with avocado, as I can’t eat pork. I love they even have the option to add avocado. I can’t wait until I’m able to stop by again to try another entree, too. Their pesto chicken wrap and zucchini lasagna sound so good. The honey lavender latte is one of the best coffee drinks I’ve had in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised at how simply sweet it was, not so crazy sweet as I’m used to those drinks being. It’s so good. I’d love to try the London Fog on the next visit, as I’ve never had that, either. And the service here is amazing. Not once have I seen an employee drop their smile or tone. They’re all so sweet and helpful, and you feel so welcome. I love not feeling rushed to finish up and get out. You can work, read, socialize, and not once have I seen an employee try to “push” anyone to leave. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area, and I envy you if you’re in the area more often than myself. I wish I...
Read moreLast year I was homeless walking the streets of west Nashville. And I ended up here at this place. It looked as if I was in the wrong place once I walked in and sat Down. However, I just wanted to talk to someone and see what this place really was. And 😱! These ladies were the nicest people and they talked to me about 'life struggles " they, themselves once had. Also, they insisted on me eating there. They wouldn't take no for a answer. One of the ladies actually paid for it. I wasnt raised that way. However, I never thought I"d end up in the streets, alone, no one to talk to. Just me and god. Howeve Rd, because of my own life struggles my family pretty much gave up on me. However, no matter what these ladies weren" t judgmental. They were kind, sweet, loving women. Who had a story of there own. If your ever in Nashville. You should stop by here and met these ladies. As well as eating there food. You will not regret it. The oy regret you" l l have is having to leave there southern, warm, kind atmosphere. I will be forever greatful to them. And always remember a act of kindness will stay in someone heart forever.Thank you so much...
