I LOVE the original location. Unfortunately, this location does NOT have near the same charm, service, or quality of food. We had a reservation for a party of 10, which the seats were prepared for us before we got there. Our waitress (did not get her name), but she was an older, dark-haired woman obviously did not want to be there nor really cared to serve. I understand some people have bad days and we were truly TRYING to give her benefit of the doubt, not once were we rude to her, I think she just didn't want to serve a larger group. 4 people out of our table ordered wine, she brought one glass which was wrong, continued to bring out 2 more glasses of wine that were wrong order, and completely forgot about the 4th glass. When we tried to let her know of incorrect wine, she scoffed. Our table ordered 3 orders of Bruschetta, not one of the 3 plates had tomatoes on it, we were all confused. It was a piece of bread, pesto and parmesan cheese on top. When our table ordered dessert, she was going around the table and we had an order of 15 cannoli's which she replied, "Oh God!" then proceeds to ask the next person "What do you want?". Leaving the table she shouts, "By the way, the cannoli's are gonna take longer since I have to stuff them myself!" When it came to pay, at least half of the receipts were wrong. I understand separate checks sucks, but c'mon it happens. We tried to let her know that there were some items left off/missing or just incorrect in general, and she would not let us finish a sentence before ripping receipt out of our hands. At the same time, another table was trying to pay, and handed her their card, and she very loudly said, "Ugh sorry, this table all had separate checks and it takes forever!" I hate that me and my friends had such a terrible experience with their staff and experience in general, because we absolutely love all that the original Coco's has to offer. We will not be returning to...
Read moreI have been looking everywhere for an authentic Italian restaurant ever since my favorite place in Bellevue closed during COVID. My husband and I dropped by Coco's Italian restaurant on a whim and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised.
My husband ordered the cheese ravioli fungi with Alfredo sauce. We were expecting two or three ravioli on the plate which is what we usually receive at other Italian restaurants. Not only did he receive a plateful of ravioli, the porcini mushroom and Alfredo sauce was decadent and flavorful with sliced pancetta throughout the sauce.
I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo. Fettuccine Alfredo is my to-go at every Italian restaurant as I like to compare to see who has the best made from scratch fettuccine noodles (hard to find) and alfredo sauce. I was not disappointed with my fettuccine Alfredo from Coco's. The noodles were fresh and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of Alfredo sauce.
After dinner, my husband and I shared coffee and a slice of Coco's Italian lemon berry cream cake. The cake was moist and flavorful with just the right amount of lemon and mixed berries baked into the cake and layers of marscapone cheese with a light dusting of powdered sugar sprinkled on top. I was pleasantly surprised at how well balanced the flavors were as I thought it may turn out to be too sweet.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting as well as the staff that welcomes you at the front door. Our waitress was Savannah and she was not only pleasant but patient and helpful as we asked many questions about their menu items.
My husband and I are very excited to return to Coco's Italian...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place since I really like the other two Italian restaurants with the same owner. Also, it’s in my neighborhood. We got the homemade barrata cheese appetizer and a fettuccine chicken pizza to share. We got the barrata cheese and it was pretty much a lump of mozzarella cheese on lettuce with some tomatoes. We told the waitress that it wasn’t really very good and we didn’t think herbs had been added. The pizza was basically crust, chunks of flavorless chicken and some leafs of spinach. No sauce or flavor. We were honest when the waitress asked. The manager investigated and found out that we really did just get a lump of cheese instead of barrata and they forgot the sauce on our pizza. She was very apologetic and gave us dessert while they gave us a “redo” to take home and try the next day. She explained that she had trouble retaining kitchen help and there was a language barrier—they all speak Spanish. So, the desserts were outstanding, thus the two stars. The barrata that we brought home was exactly like the one we had at the restaurant. The pizza was slightly better, the sauce helped, but the chicken was bland. I appreciate the manager’s response, but the second round of food did not impress. Another glaring issue was the Parmesan cheese. Every Italian restaurant should have great Parmesan cheese. They had powdered Parmesan in salt shakers on the table. It wouldn’t come out of the holes so I had to take the top off. I’m pretty sure it was the cheapest powdery stuff on the dry goods aisle of the grocery store. Recommendation-go for dessert and...
