I love this place and get pizza from here regularly. The menu has a clearly labeled vegan pizza, which is really nice. They also have BE-Hive pepperoni as an add-on option, which I usually order atop said pizza.
Haha, by visiting "regularly," I mean I came here last night. My boyfriend and I share a 4-count of the garlic rolls when we're really hungry (aka yesterday); they are always so wonderful... soft and heavy inside, crispy and toasty on the outside, sitting in a bed of olive oil, covered in fresh garlic and basil bits... Yeah man. If you want to make them vegan, it's easy; just ask for no parmesan.
Garlic rolls aside, the pizza is always great. I especially appreciate the care they take when splitting a pizza in half. They must put some sort of wall in the middle when preparing the pizza, because the halves do not spread into one another. It's impressive, I must say. My boyfriend is not vegan, but we are able to enjoy a 1/2 vegan, 1/2 cheesy-meaty pizza with ease when we come here.
If I could make one suggestion, I would really like it if the red peppers on top of my pizza were less juicy and more crispy. Not sure if it'd be best to cook them more or squeeze them beforehand, but they tend to moisturize everything. I've considered ordering the pizza without the peppers, because I'm not crazy about them anyway, but mixing up toppings tends to get pricey here (even if you're making an equivalent swap). Obviously, doesn't stop me from...
Read moreFive points is split into two different sides: one for dine in and one for grab-and-go slices. I have tried both and recommend both depending on your situation. Only only customers who dine-in will be allowed to eat inside the dine in side.
Dine-in: The overall dine in experience is great aside from it being a bit cramped. The menu options allow for multiple different dietary preferences. Their thin crust is crispy and very flavorful. Their specialty pizzas are also very well designed and customizable if you would like to switchout or add an ingredient. The habanaro while sauce with fresh jalapeños and pepperoni was delicious! The drink assortment was good and paired well with their pizzas.
The service was also great. They were very helpful and kind, giving real answers to our questions rather than just saying everything is good.
Grab-and-go: There are a few different slices that they have available everyday: cheese, pepperoni, meat lover, vegetarian, and a weekly special. They are all very large, and incredibly thin, crispy and delicious! Avaliability is based on the time though, so if you come closer to closing, they may only have one or two types left. The location is in very close proximity to several very popular bars making it a great meal (or snack) before or after some drinks.
I would highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys a ny style pizza. I will definitely be back for both...
Read moreOur service at this establishment started out subpar and ended (as I was told) horribly. My daughter and I visited this location based on a recommendation from my husbands co-worker. We're new to Nashville and LOVE NY style pizza, so we decided to give it a try. The cashier who took our order was less than personable, but we gave her a pass. While waiting for our pizza, my teenage daughter (caramel complexion, dreadlocked 2nd yr COLLEGE student) decided to watch the pizza being prepared from their carryout window. Shortly thereafter, she was met by an extremely rude employee (white guy with dark slightly curly hair) who forced the window open, screaming "WHAT?!" as if my daughter was a vagabond who didn't just voluntarily spend her hard earned money to purchase her family a pizza for dinner. That type of service is totally unacceptable. I typically don't pull the race card, but this time I had to. Unfortunately, the poor behavior of one employee can blemish an entire experience and business. Granted he was apologetic after she told him she was waiting for her order, but it should've never happened.
Lesson #1: Never judge a book by it's cover. Brown skinned dreadheads pose no threat, especially when their dollars are green and spend like everyone else's.
Lesson #2: Try answering your phones to avoid...
