My expectations for restaurants are always lower at airports. That said, the Hattie B’s in terminal C at BNA really left a mark. The lady I ordered from was pleasant and helpful. The prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially compared to California airports. I had just experienced Hattie B’s for the first time the day before on lower Broadway in Nashville and it seemed like the prices were comparable. After ordering, I had to carve out a little space with my luggage to wait. Not a huge deal, but I could see this being an issue if you came with more than one person. What was remarkable is the service I received at the pick up counter. I had ordered the tenders with no heat because I was anticipating on sharing the meal with my young daughters. I asked the lady at the pick up counter for a side of hot sauce and explained my situation with my daughters and she said “I got you”. After what seemed like a few moments longer than it should’ve been to deliver some hot sauce, the lady at the counter gave me my side of hot sauce with an extra container filled with a “hot” heat chicken tender on bread with a pickle. I was so surprised and told her you didn’t have to do this. She looked at me and said “You have to try the chicken with the heat. It’s a different experience than the sauce on the side”. I thanked her and left. I was blown away with the thoughtfulness of the employee and the taste of the chicken. She was absolutely right. The tender with the sauce was substantially better than me dipping the tender into the hot sauce. Don’t get me wrong: Hattie b’s has some amazing chicken. It’s not like me to go to the same restaurant twice in two days when visiting a new city, especially a city known for their food. I can’t recommend them enough and can see them expanding in the near future. Do yourself a favor and stop at...
Read moreWent here on a Friday evening while on a layover. I read a lot of reviews because it's an airport location and I'd never had Nashville Hot Chicken before. It was a mixed bag, a lot of raving reviews and a lot of scathing reviews. I decided to give it a shot. There was a little line which was to be expected on a busy night. I watched the operation, the cashier/order taker, food runner and cooks all seemed to be staying busy and doing their job. The cashier was fine, but not too helpful when it comes to heat levels and didn't ask what type of cheese I wanted on my chicken sandwich. I ordered the tenders heat level "shut the cluck up" and a hot chicken sandwich. I got the potato salad, coleslaw and french fries. Maybe 10 minutes later and my food is ready. Started with the coleslaw, nothing special at all. If you like coleslaw you'll probably like it, if you don't you won't. Fries were fine, nothing to write home about. The tenders were ok, not nearly as hot as I was expecting, don't get me wrong they were hot, just not painful like I was hoping. They were breaded and cooked great, but the seasoning didn't have a great flavor, I put some honey on them and it helped exponentially!!! The potato salad was pretty good, it could use a little mustard, though. The chicken sandwich was good, breaded and cooked well, but the seasoning was lacking. Hot is really more of a warm but the flavor was nice, they just put it all in one spot on the chicken breast🤣 All in all not a bad experience but not a great one either. I did like that they have honey packets available. I'd definitely check out a...
Read moreHattie B’s at the airport did not miss a single beat. I travel a fair bit and usually airport restaurants suck and they up charge, so quality and quantity goes down while price goes up. That is not the case with Hattie B’s.
The staff were great and hustling the entire time we were there. Super considerate of airport travelers, keeping paths clear and food churning to keep up with the long lines and orders.
It was a great experience for the kids because they can’t do too much spice yet but they loved the flavor and spices on the southerner (no heat) level for the tenders. The wings were juicy and fantastic and the classic sandwich at mild hit the spot with plenty of heat for us.
The fries and mac and cheese were fantastic as well. Didn’t realize the portions were going to be generous, if I would have known, I’d have bought one tender platter for the kids, as it was plenty of food for them.
As for the staff, they had to deal with grumpy travelers and people on the move from all over visiting NashVegas, and they did a great job. I don’t know who the head guy was, but big man was crushing it with kindness, with his calm demeanor, was taking care of the staff and the customers all at the same time. Even with how busy it was and people leaving a mess in the sitting area, he kept on it and kept the staff and customers all positive.
Don’t care what else is at this airport, this will be my forever spot anytime I fly through here...
