Bongo Java — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

Like others have pointed out, airport food will always come with a premium. However, it’s the quality of the overpriced food that matters. I ordered a hot green tea and a breakfast sandwich. No complaints about the tea— that’s nearly impossible to mess up.

The breakfast sandwich was subpar. Torn between egg & cheese or bacon, egg & cheese, I gluttonously chose the addition of bacon since the menu stated it had black pepper aioli on rustic bread. What they meant was “glorified Mayo with black pepper on a grocery store-baked roll.” Quite honestly, the roll was better than it looked— light and fluffy. It’s not the “rustic bread” that the menu depicts though.

Others have mentioned the lack of bacon and the single egg on the sandwich. I would agree that the single piece of bacon and the pepper-Mayo do not justify the $1.50 price differential between this and the bacon-less sandwich. I will give them credit that the egg actually seemed to be an egg and the cheese was not some plastic-wrapped Kraft singles (no offense to anyone who loves that stuff).

Staff was friendly at 6am, service was quick, but this is basically a grab-and-go spot, so I wouldn’t expect...

Hands down the worst service I've ever recieved at an airport food place, which is already low bar to cross.

First ,WAY overpriced. IF YOU WALK A LITTLE FARTHER YOU CAN GET BETTER FOOD AND COFFE FOR about 30% less!!!

I ordered my food and drink and get no response from the lady, nothing. No words or even pointing. I pay and am waiting and another woman behind the counter scowls at me at tells, "You need to move over there." I see them calling other people's names and get their food and coffee. A different woman calls my name and there's nothing for me. I say, "Hi you called my name but I don't see my drink or food." Then the scowling woman yells from behind the counter, my wasn't called when I damn well it was. When I did get my food and drink it also awful. Microwave eggs on a toasted roll and bitter coffee. The food alone was bad. The price was bad. The service was awful.

Supervisor this morning (October 11, 2025) has such a bad attitude and is definitely on a power trip with her employees. After waiting over 10 minutes for something as simple as a cold brew, while all these complicated drinks were being made, all of which I had observed order after me, I approach the counter and ask nicely about my order. My order doesn't even seem to be in the queue as she lists these different cold brew orders with add-ons. Mines was just a cold brew. After telling her my order, she grabs a cup, fills it with ice and throws it on the counter as it slides towards me. I hope she has a better day and treats her employees better, because for me to be at the register with her cashier telling her she wants to leave, she tells her "you can't leave, as your superior, I'm above you and I'm telling you, you can't leave".
