I REALLY wanted to like this place. We went here for my birthday dinner tonight and it's on my one-and-done list. In a city saturated with food options, poor service is never a place I return to- especially in Nashville where people are friendly everywhere.
Prior to arriving, my fiance called ahead and made sure it was kid friendly and then made reservations for 4. The hostess that answered was the same that greeted us and she was so friendly and nice! She assured him kids were welcome. She even asked our girls which menu they'd like since they are older.
We were seated towards the back with LOTS of traffic coming and going from the kitchen. More than once, a dish or utensil was dropped and came careening into my chair. Not exactly relaxing.
It took our red headed waitress about 10 minutes to come over and even say hello. She asked us what we wanted to drink and since their non alcoholic drinks were not listed on the menu, our 12 year old asked her what they had. After ignoring her twice, I finally looked at our daughter and said, "I don't think she heard you, ask her again." With no apology and a blank stare the waitress responded with, "well what do you want?"
After coming back with drinks she didn't offer any of the evenings specials until I asked. Every interaction was the bare minimum and almost like we were a bother to her. The kids meals our girls ordered were brought out with the two starters we ordered and then nearly THIRTY minutes later our food was finally brought out.
Both meals were good, but because of the wait between meals, our girls were now done with their dinner while we were just starting. This is basic restauranteur knowledge... you don't serve main courses separate. That's the entire point of going out to eat instead of cooking my own birthday dinner.
After requesting water and beverage refills 2-3x throughout the night, we pretty much gave up on attentiveness... only to have the waitress finally ask us, 2/3 the way through our entrees, how everything was ok.
Finally, after sitting with dirty dishes for about 10 minutes, our waitress came back and we had to ask for a dessert menu. When I asked if a specific dessert had nuts in it, our server of course, had no idea. After requesting that she go and check, she came back and stated, "so, you can have the cookie, or the pound cake, that's it. "
I was stunned. If you've never dealt with food allergies in serving, you must be on your first day. Allergies are commonplace and not all the same. I am allergic to some tree nuts, but not peanuts. This requires you, as a representative of your establishment, to be knowledgeable of what you are serving.
Overall, our tab was $110 with 2 starters, 2 entrees, and 2 kids meals. We ended up leaving $9 in to because of the atrocious service.
My fiance suggested we give these guys 2 starts, but seriously, I would have given them 1. It takes serious effort to give such little care and concern for people that keep you...
Read moreThis was my second time dining here, and although there are positives about this place, my recent interaction with the bartender/server completely ruined the experience.
I decided to bring some of my family here right after Christmas since it would be their first time visiting. I’m a very simple person and want everyone to be happy, especially when family is in town during the holidays, as it can be a stressful time. My 94-year-old grandma, who has difficulty hearing, noticed there were chicken fingers on the menu but didn’t realize they were listed under the “kids” section—or whatever you want to call it.
After ordering nearly one of everything from the appetizers and a few drinks for the group, she wanted something simple and familiar since some of the other items didn’t appeal to her. She said, “Let’s get the chicken fingers,” and the bartender clearly heard and saw how excited she was. She even mentioned how her and I could split it. I asked the bartender to order it for us, but he said we weren’t allowed to because it was for “kids aged 9 and younger.” I explained that she was 94—a 9-year-old probably eats more than she does—but he still wouldn’t accommodate the request or suggest another option.
This made me incredibly frustrated. Having worked in the service industry myself, I know how simple it is to keep customers happy. It wasn’t as if we were asking for a custom 10-layer cake—it was an item on the menu, and they refused to serve it.
I wish this hadn’t happened because I would have loved to continue coming back and recommending this place to others. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I still can’t get over how it went down. Maybe the bartender was new and afraid to bend the rules, but it didn’t...
Read moreMake a customer happy and he/she might tell one other person about how satisfied they were about your service. Upset one customer and he/she will tell ten others about how poor their experience was. That is my case. For a good 5 years I would always say this was my favorite restaurant in town. I’d recommend to anyone and take anyone visiting town there. Except today I took my bf to try my favorite Nashville restaurant and was treated very poorly by Katie. We had lunch, handed the card to the server who handed us back the bill which we signed. 30 minutes after dinner Katie called me saying they had never received “cellphone payment”. I said we had paid for it it with a card and signed it and everything... Instead of trying to verify if there was a mistake to their system, Katie simply said “I am not going to argue with you, that is not how the payments work, they didn’t find any payment”. Even though we felt incredibly attacked and disturbed by her approach, we gave her our card number... After hanging up, we checked our statement and the charge had already been completed during our dinner just like we had described. So we called back to say we had already been charged.... Katie had no apologies to give us after treating a loyal customer like I we were criminals. Katie, you are terrible at customer service and because of you, I am never returning to that place ever again nor recommending it to anyone. In any chance I get, I will make sure to badmouth...
