We visited post apocalyptic COVID era by 2 days when the rest of the city went hog wild and acted like convicts getting released on a day's hall pass. Staff still practiced masking of all staff which was great for those of us who weren't quite ready for the deep end regardless of EUA vax status.
On to the good stuff...we have been to many a Mexican restaurant from California to New Mexico to Colorado and even the east coast and Cinco de Mayo in Nashville topped them all. I had the chilli relleno stuffed with shredded chicken! I've never had it prepared this way before and was more than impressed, in fact gonna ask our local venue if they can do something similar. The Texas Margaritas were outstanding, my wife had the skinny marg and she as well couldn't tell a difference. My mom had the shrimp fajita tacos and happened to share with me and I didn't want to give her her plate back!
The staff were all outstanding including our waitress, Erica G., who explained the menu if we had questions and when she didn't know 100% she asked someone who could. She was great with our kids (5 and 1) and made sure we were completely taken care of. What was most notable, something sadly I've never seen before, when a chip fell off the basket onto the table she picked it up and took it back vs just putting it back in the basket. That did not go unnoticed and was greatly admired.
I wish I lived in Nashville just to frequent them more often! ...
Read moreI’m saddened to write this . If I could give them 0 stars I would . We live a few blocks over and took an out of town friend in for some food and margaritas . We got seated . Waited 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and proceeded to order a pitcher of margaritas . 30 minutes later no margaritas . Our waiter apologized and took our order . We placed very simple orders nothing fancy . He walked away STILL no margaritas . Another 30 minutes and our food arrived and we were missing several food items we ordered and STILL no margaritas .No chips and salsa refills . More apologies . He finally made the food correct but it was very awkward and cold . He finally comes back and asked if we still wanted the margaritas UM NO . Why would we?!. He probably should have just comped it this point, but we just told him to take it off the bill WHICH NEVER ARRIVED . My husband had to go track someone down to find our bill and when he got it they had charged us for not 1 but 2 pitchers of margaritas that we never even saw . For a weeknight meal that is supposed to be a stress free easy thing this experience was like pulling teeth . I’m from this neighborhood and we will...
Read moreI was very worried about coming here due to the reviews saying food wasn’t good, it was bland, etc. But honestly, I don’t know where y’all ate but it couldn’t have been here. This place rocks!!! I wanted a classic taco salad where the bowl is the crunchy shell and they over delivered. Genuinely some of the best food I’ve eaten in Nashville. My partner wanted to share meals so we also got the shredded chicken quesadillas to share and I was so shocked because they ended up being my favorite even though I came for the taco salad! The taco salad’s beef was so flavorful, it was the perfect texture for me (like Taco Bell consistency, finely ground), and they HEAPED the taco shell full!! Toppings were fresh and perfectly balanced. SO yummy!!! The chicken quesadillas are out of this world. Chicken is seasoned perfectly, so moist, and cheese to chicken ratio was balanced to perfection. It also came with rice and beans… YUM! Our waitress was so sweet and everyone was having such a great time, the restaurant has a great atmosphere! The prices were also unbeatable, we paid $20 for 2 meals and 2 drinks! Cannot recommend more, don’t let bad reviews scare you!! This...
