We were visiting Opry Mills for the day and figured we would go to Longhorn, which is a very good restraunt in Huntsville, on the way home. We were seated quickly as it was half full but our party was split into 2 booths (no big deal kids in 1 adults in the other). Our waitress came out and thats when everything went downhill. She had no enthusiasm for her job at all. After ordering drinks and appetizers we sat for a few minutes and they came out quickly and she left. When she returned to take our orders my wife asked her to go ahead and split the check now so there wouldnt be any more confusion. She refused and said she would figure it out later. She took our orders starting with me. I ordered a burger and she went thru the list of sides etc. This burger is advertised in the menu with a certain type of fries. When she said differently I pointed it out on the menu and she argued it. We finished ordering and she left. As she was leaving I asked for more water. She came back out 10 minutes later with the salads and still no water. I asked again and she finally brought it. Our food comes out 10 minutes later and she drops it off and leaves once again never refilling our waters or asking if the steaks my wife and the other were cooked right. The steaks looked like they were gotten from Waffle House and were a bad cut of meat (stringy and chewy). She never came back to check on us until we were close to being done eating. I once again had to ask for water and asked for our to go boxes. She came back, with the water and boxes, and told us that since we were sat at different tables we would have to pay twice (once for my wife and I and once for our kids on seperate checks). When asked why she admitted messing up but oh well. We asked if the manager could fix it and she went to ask. Another 10 minutes go by and she returns with 4 checks.... she hands them amd leaves with 1 of them. We review the checks and they're wrong (go figure). She tries to retrieve the payment when it was brought to her attention the appetizers weren't on the right checks and we couldnt read them (neither could she). We worked it out among the group so we could just get out of there and she leaves. She comes back with the cards and another check. She forgot to charge us for a dinner. So the manager comes over and we try to explain all of the issues, in the middle.of the waitress butts in several times denying it. To wrap this up poor wait staff, food and management is whats for dinner at this location. Maybe they need some remedial training at another location...just not the...
Read moreI have been here multiple time over the past three years.
Progressively they have become worse and worse. The service is bad, bathrooms dirty, and food mediocre/wrong.
Last night was the worst experience I have ever had here.
The bus boy took our drink order, which was an interesting experience, but of no real concern.
The waitress who took our food order had to look at the kids menu to know there was kids’ tender option. She was clueless.
I had to go to the server station to ask for utensils, and our waitress told me, “they are at the hostess station, I’ll get them for you later”. I guess the appetizers she just delivered was to be eaten with our finger.
A random plate of rice was placed on our table as an appetizer...nobody ordered it, and nobody ate it.
All but two meals came out together, the next meals came out separate. My daughter got her food, which was wrong, when the rest of the group was done eating.
The issue here is not just with the wait staff. There is a leadership issue here.
The check in process with the host was left wanting, the ordering food process needs work, the kitchen doesn’t seem to know what they are doing. The food was wrong, steaks at wrong temps, broccoli was decimated in a microwave, burger missing bacon, salads with wrong items.
To top it off, the uniforms of staff we interacted with where filthy.
All this can be summed up in poor leadership. This restaurant will close very soon if the dining-room, and restrooms are not cleaned, and the staff properly trained.
I pay for food, but I also pay for service...
Read moreI don't like being 'that guy' but I have some real issues here. I will be fair and honest. In total, I've eaten here about six times. Of those six times, two were positive..the rest, well.. The last time I ate here, I got a terrible case of foodborne illness. I mean about to "DIE" foodborne illness. It's been 5 days and I'm just now starting to attempt to eat regularly again. Worst I've ever had. I was talking with a colleague about the experience and she told me that just 3 weeks before me, she had the exact same experience, and had just the day before eaten at this same longhorn! We couldn't believe it, but I know without question it came from here. I had a burger with a salad. She had shrimp with salad. I don't know where the culprit is, but I strongly suggest they take extra measures to investigate this. Besides this awful experience, my wife and I have eaten here on a few occasions for Sunday lunch. Twice, our order has been wrong... I'm usually laid back about it and will eat anything that's served to me, but the second time they got both our orders wrong and the waitress acted like she could care less. We told her not to worry about it, but she acted like we were the problem. Besides this, the sweet potato I ordered with my steak was tiny. I was laughing about how small it was but equally disappointed because I love sweet potato's... Anyway, I'm sorry to be negative but I can't recommend this particular longhorn and I cannot say that we will return here. Other longhorns.. sure, no problem-...
