I don't even know where to begin, regarding this restaurant! Unfortunately, there's not a lower number to give these people, so I had to put the one star! First off, I told them that I have never had Korean food and I was very excited to try it, so I was asking them if they could help out and advise or recommend what chicken or beef Korean food I should try. To which, both waitresses shook their head and walked away telling me that they're is really no chicken Korean meal they have! I was SHOCKED, to say the least when BOTH waitresses acted so horrible and unhelpful! Frustrated, I finally just ordered a teriyaki box... chicken teriyaki. When the box was brought to me, The teriyaki looked like a teriyaki sauce that I have never seen in my life! It literally looked like oil and flour mix together given it a slimy gravy - like substance. The chicken looked on cooked, covered in this nasty looking sauce! The so-called eggrolls tasted horribly with a feeling that felt and tasted just like that so-called chicken teriyaki sauce, inside. The salad look like somebody vomited the dressing on top of it. The only thing that was edible was the miso soup. When the bill was brought to me, I asked the waitress who the owner was at which point, she pointed the guy behind the bar that was so engrossed in watching a boxing championship with Metalica playing in the background. I proceeded to let them know that this was the worst Japanese food I've ever tasted and I showed them the teriyaki sauce showing them the gravy looking slimy substance that had a coffee and cream color.. a creamy taupe color with lumps in it . At that point, he shook his shoulders and gave a faint smile as the waitress looked and me and barely said the word sorry. I can say that this is the worst Japanese restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life! OMg how it is supposed to have a 4.5 star is...
Read moreI love Midori. The underwhelming vibe and the retro feel of the place accompanied with a very professional wait staff and sushi chef just warms my heart. It's exactly the type of vibe I like in a restaraunt; retro and CLEAN.
I went solo to enjoy a few rolls of sushi this past Sunday. I went in and sat at a table (I think a bar seat would have made this experience extra special, but Covid) and was quickly helped. The older server showed me a lot of grace when I started ordering by rattling off menu items when the chart to fill out was right in front of me. It could have been an awkward circumstance but she was very professional and courteous in the way she handled my ignorance.
I ordered my 3 rolls (the OMG, the Nolensville, and one I simply can't remember) and, as I prefer to give restaraunt my undivided attention, sat patiently and soaked in the vibe. As a chef, it was hard to keep my eyes off the sushi chef. I enjoyed watching his precise knife strokes. The man is clearly a natural.
Within about 15 minutes (which I was very cognizant of) my 3 rolls were sitting in front of me, ready to be devoured. I loved the kick of the Wasabi (I could be wrong, but it seemed stronger at Midori - the mouthfeel potential for intensity was extremely high, absolutely brutalizing my nostrils and face on a couple bites - YUM!!) and the ginger was fresh and crisp.
All of the individual ingredients of the sushi rolls were very fresh... it seemed even the avocado stretched across the back of my OMG roll was at peak ripeness. The rice and seaweed had subtle but high quality flavor notes.
5/5 -...
Read moreI hadn't been here for awhile and decided to take my wife here to eat. I ordered Galbi and Cod fish soup. The Galbi came out burnt and tasted bitter. The waitress said it's for better flavor. I said it's way overcooked! She brought it back in the kitchen and said they'll make me another. Then came the Cod Fish soup. I found a wad of hair in my soup and told one of the waitresses about it. She took it to the sushi Chef guy who I assume is also the manager. He came to my table and said that they're not making me another one because kitchen is about to close. This was around 8:30 pm and they close at 9:30. He told me and my wife basically that they will not accommodate us and to just leave. As we started to leave, I heard the Chef yelled out "Don't come back!" with other patron dining. I was shocked and embarrassed at how they handled the situation and how they tried to make it look like we're the one causing trouble. We drove really far just to come here and all we wanted was a warm meal. You guys were very rude and agitated for something that was solely your fault. Don't worry man. I will never step in this restaurant...
