Great sandwiches! Great food!! Would love to go back, but... I hate leaving a 2 star review or any negative review at all, but what made it 2 star to me was the service. Specifically, the guy that took our order. Again, great food!! My wife and I LOVED our sandwiches and the guys making them were fantastically friendly. But this cashier... plain and simple: rude. As we look at the menu (it was our first time there), the guy never asks us for help, not that I expect him to, but the first thing he blurts out is "Are you ready to order or what?!" Red flag #1. We order and my wife asks that she could have her sandwich with no tomatoes to which the cashier replied "honey, it COMES WITH tomato, ok?" rather than, 'sure, no tomato, no problem. What else for you? smile" Red flag #2. After our order, he slings the ipad (??) around and very rudely tells me "You can leave your tip right there." And turns away from me. Red flag #3. For the third time, GREAT SANDWICHES!! AWESOME FOOD!!... But dude ruined the whole experience for me. Maybe I'm being unfair.. Maybe the guy had some issues going on in his life and if so, God bless him, I hope all is well with him. But this kind of service in the service industry is getting ridiculous. It's become a trend and it doesn't represent our great city. But, regardless, GREAT FOOD!! FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC SANDWICHES!! ANY OF THEM!! THEY'RE GREAT!! THE TURKEY AVOCADO IS...
Read moreIt is Saturday afternoon and I was looking for something diverse and eclectic, something with style and something with choices for all. I saw this spot on line and realized this was the place to try today! The neighborhood was ever so cute and the joint was happened for sure. I could tell right away we had found delicatessen paradise. It reminded me of Wisconsin with the Cheese Curds and Sprechers soda, but they also had kombucha and herbamate. It was so inviting and sported a jukebox at the front door. It was totally packed, and we still found a place to sit. Sonya who took the order was so very sweet and I was torn between a couple items and she recommended the asian tofu bbq hoagie, steph got the tuna. I also got the tofu shitake soup, and everything was off the chain delicious! The tuna was so unique and well worth it for what could have been just another tuna sandwich. I enjoyed the various grocery items they had for sale in the store and so wish I were able to eat here on a regular basis. I only wish I had discovered this place when I was living in the area! Great...
Read moreI'm a regular here and sandwiches aside, their brunch is consistently wonderful in the mornings. All the favorites, excellent eggs, potatoes, biscuits/gravy, Benton's bacon, and grits. Underrated soup/salad bar and delicious rotisserie chicken. If I'm in a pinch I always pick up Willow farm eggs from their market. Draft Sprecher soda, High Garden/Buchi kombucha, beer, cider, and iced coffee... their iced sweet tea is mulled with oranges and cinnamon for crying out loud! I'm dying over here, the sandwiches rule. I can personally recommend the Bahn Mi, Turkey Apple Brie/Avocado, French Dip, Chicken Portobello, and Caprese. Their Asian Flank Steak was a runner up in the Nashville Scene sandwich poll. Sometimes they have a Cuban or pulled pork special that's totally worth it! This is a spot where you're bound to run into friends and you both nod to each other in agreement that this is the best decision you've made all day. The place is busy during the lunch hour so order online if you're coming after 11am. Sandwiches are wrapped up with a pickle spear and are easy to take with...
