Came here based on the good reviews. New to area. Grabbed a table on the deck for just the 2 of us. 35 mins to get our drinks. Our app came out before our drinks arrived. Ate food with no drinks, water, or napkins. Server walked past us 15 times. Drinks finally came. We hadn’t even ordered our entree items yet. Flagged server down to order sandwiches. Drinks were empty by then, flagged server down to order another round and also waters. Sandwiches came out, we sat and again ate with no drinks, silverware, napkins or waters, and by this time we had asked for waters 3 times. Server stopped again and said I’m forgetting something, “I just said yeah the waters so we had a drink while we ate, you can skip them since our food is gone, just still waiting on our second round of adult bevs”.
The worst date night ever. Hoped for a nice night on the patio with a few drinks and a bite. Struggled to get any service for the over 2 hours we sat there. Looking around it looked as if other tables were having same convos as us as how terrible service was. Funny we actually brought up tip inflation while we sat. The expectation of a good tip but no quality to back it up. I wanted to leave 20% and write the server a note that it was worst experience ever, my bf disagreed and tipped less than 8%. There was no effort. Server was very quick to come get her signed slip, we kept telling her we’ll sign when we finished our drink.
2 stars is because the food was great. Zero stars for service because we were completely ignored unless we flagged any employee down.
The Strawberry Jalapeño Marg was repulsive, tasted like when you burp and puke in your mouth. (sorry tmi but this was the consensus...
Read moreTL;DR: 3.5 stars. Meh draft beer selection, fantastic pretzels, and more of a patio than a garden.
My wife and I just moved to Germantown and were looking for a place with outdoor seating to enjoy the weather as we took a much needed break from unpacking and Village Pub fit the bill. Service was a bit slow starting off even though there weren't many people there, but once the waitress took our order, she was constantly present.
I ordered a strawberry wheat beer to start off with, which was okay, while my wife chose not to drink to make me feel like an alcoholic (she's also training for a half marathon and trying to trim down, so I guess that's part of it too). I followed that up with another forgettable beer once the food arrived. Altogether, a miss for me on the beers.
The food, on the other hand, was great. I got their special pretzel sandwich, a Sriracha mayo BLT with chicken (so really a Sriracha Club), and my wife got the strawberry and goat cheese salad with herb chicken. The sandwich was amazing and the best part was the pretzel bun: crispy on the outside, perfectly salty, and soft and chewy on the inside. The rest of the flavors melded well together too, but nothing beats that bun (I have a love/love relationship with bread, so results may vary). It came with a side of chips which tasted exactly like ruffles (Lay's are better, fyi). The wifey's salad was tasty: chicken was well seasoned, strawberries fresh and juicy, and candied walnuts provided a...
Read moreWhen I first started going to the Village Pub, I LOVED it! The food, cocktails, and beers are awesome, 10/10! BUT the service is awful, and I suggest you just order to go and not even sit down in the restaurant. The last 3 times I have been here, I have received the absolute worst service from servers/bartenders. This last instance I went, I arrived 30 minutes before close. I had ordered food to go to make it easier on the restaurant, and I planned to eat there and have a drink at the bar. Once I arrived I was scolded as soon as I walked in the door. It took about 15 minutes to get my food just because the bartender did not acknowledge me AT ALL. I looked at the food (already made and ready on the bar) the entire time before he finally asked “what did we want”. We ordered one drink, and he was slamming glasses, huffing and puffing the entire time. I wanted a water to wash my food down, but I was honestly afraid to even ask him for one due to his reaction anytime I asked for anything! I asked for a napkin, and he slammed a stack onto the bar. He finally asked if we needed anything after we were clearly done with our meal so that he did not have to GIVE US SERVICE. I have not received this bad of service in a very long time, especially in Nashville. I am disappointed in Village Pub and even though I love the food, I will not...
