Verdict: 3.5 stars. I'll round up because I wanted to like it so much, but the tacos were really just okay. The horchata was phenomenal, though my wife's latte was just okay.
Being from Texas, my wife and I can appreciate a good taco. When our Texan friends who live in Nashville told us Tempo had amazing breakfast tacos, we had to check it out.
First off, the inside is very minimalist, which is fine with me. They have a really cool old piano that serves the water. Parking is definitely not an issue, with spots in the front and some in the back. Service was impeccable as well. They told us it would be a bit because they had just gotten a large taco order, but everyone was super polite and made easy conversation with us.
We started off with a latte for my wife and an horchata for me. The latte was nothing to write home about, but the horchata was the best I've ever had. Just mhmm good. Food-wise, we got a Texas scramble with chorizo, a potato and egg taco and a chorizo and egg taco. We were kinda disappointed all around. While the scramble was okay, the tacos were relatively flavorless and the salsa didn't add much to the equation. Needless to say, we were sorely disappointed, maybe because we came in with high expectations. I honestly don't know if we'll be back; maybe if we can convince ourselves to give it another...
Read moreWe stopped by Tempo Nashville on Nolensville Pike for breakfast/brunch and left super impressed! The food was absolutely delicious — we tried the bean and cheese quesadillas, the steak and egg tacos, and a few bites of everything because it was that good.
If you’re low-carb or have dietary restrictions, they’re super flexible — you can skip the tortillas and still get a generous, satisfying portion. Love that kind of service!
🌱 One thing that really stood out to me was how eco-friendly the place is. The plates, cutlery, even the vibe — all very sustainable and conscious. Wooden silverware, biodegradable everything. Small touches, big impact. 👏
🍴 Now for the honest part: we do NOT recommend the chips and queso. Definitely skip that one. But everything else? Chef’s kiss.
I brought my two kids — 8 and 13 — and they both enjoyed their meals (and that’s saying something). It’s casual, friendly, and quick, but still feels cool and local. We’re giving the food five stars, but the atmosphere lands at a strong four — cute and clean, but a little basic inside. Still, the staff was kind, and we’ll 100% be back.
Whether you’re hunting for breakfast tacos, brunch near Nolensville Pike, or just want good food with an eco-conscious twist, Tempo is...
Read moreMy only qualm is that my cousin and I ordered the same drink, but the amount in the cup was not the same.(The picture shows both drinks untouched, so you see what I mean.) Setting a standard in making the coffee being uniform is the only thing missing here. What this location carries a lot of is flavor, authenticity, and that Texas heart. I may be a native Tennessean, but my heart belongs to the Lone Star state.
My order: Guava Jarrito (I screamed internally, cause these are hard to find.) Half Mexican Vanilla, half Texas Honey Cinnamon iced flat white. It was absolutely amazing. ( I definitely ordered one to go. ) My bowl was a build your own. Steak, eggs, beans, queso, jalapeños, and potatoes. Their food comes in the cutest bowls, portions are normal, but most Americans would find it small. KEEP THAT IN MIND, if you're a "hearty" food person. Do not say they're overpriced for the portion, just go to waffle house.
If you have the time to sit in the cafe, do it. The music isn't too loud, it's spacious, and comfortable. A little chilly for me, so...
