I can’t keep calm! Let’s just say, I hadn’t found my favorite place to have Asian (fusion) food in Nashville…. Until now! I didn’t have high expectations going in but was completely blown away by my experience there.
They have an elaborate menu and usually when that’s the case, you have to know what to order at certain places. But everything we ordered here (party of 8) was great. I really enjoyed Basil Fried Rice with Chicken and Pad Thai with Tofu. Green Curry was good too. Everything was so flavorful. Don’t go by how the dishes look, they taste scrumptious.
Their staff elicits a section of its own in this review because they were not just friendly but also accommodating, warm, understanding and generous with us. We initially were just 2 at the bar, then moved to a table of 4, when a friend decided to join. Then, moved to a table of 8, when more people decided to join us. They accommodated our ever changing requests without any fuss. Everyone’s food was served but one of my friends’ and our server said it was slightly burnt so they are making it again - which shows their quality assurance is good even before the food makes it to the table and gets sent back. We had a hard deadline as we were going to watch a movie afterwards at Regal nearby, so when we were about to leave and her food was still not there, we asked them to cancel the order as we requested checks for everyone. By that time, they had already prepared the food so he gave her that in to-go box anyway to eat after the movie — which was very sweet.
They have plenty of parking at this location unlike their gulch location and it’s very convenient and easy to find parking. I’m absolutely ecstatic to have found them.
It’s my new go-to spot for...
Read moreI’ll start by saying that I went during lunch. I’m assuming lunch has a different staff than dinner. Service was the absolute WORST. I met my friend here for lunch and after water was dropped off the waitress took at least 25 mins to come back to take our order and that was only because she caught us staring at her. Once she walked over she said “you must be ready to order?” OF COURSE!! Secondly, my friend ordered an appetizer of spring rolls 10 mins before I walked in. It took almost 35 mins for that to arrive. We figured she forgot to put it in just as she forgot to come take our lunch order. Next…I asked the host for a high chair and the chair was FILTHY. I’m positive it hasn’t been cleaned the entire week which is completely unsanitary. Our food finally came back almost an hour of being here we were both unsatisfied. My sushi roll had cream cheese extremely cold and thick. It’s like they took it out of a freezer and put it straight in the roll instead of letting thaw some. The lady didn’t bring any soy sauce or ask if we needed anything.
Lastly, a guy walked out extremely pissed off. He was there before us and almost everyone else in the restaurant at this point and once he noticed we had received our food he told the waitress how it was completely unacceptable and stormed out. I don’t blame him one bit bc two separate tables that walked in after us received their food. The waitress was extremely insensitive and did not care one bit.
Again I’ll reiterate this was during lunch. I’ve went for dinner and it was incredible but today was some of the worst service of my life on top of the nasty high chair. Will not return because of this. The waitress working needs more training or to be taken...
Read moreI went specifically today to check out this new Asian/Sushi restaurant. I am a massive fan of Asian/Japanese/sushi cuisine. I checked Eastern Peak's online menu, which shows no prices... not a major issue, but it is something. I decided before I left home that I would order the Sashimi Deluxe Combo which is something that I felt would be a well founded indication of their culinary priorities. When I arrived I discovered that the price was $36. No complaints, I will gladly pay for a dining experience if it is above the norm. I ordered the Combo. The sashimi pieces were well prepared, satisfying, and served on a pleasantly decorated serving vessel. The online description of the Sashimi Deluxe Combo indicated that it was supposed to be served with sushi rice. There was no rice served with my meal. I did not read the physical menu in the restaurant with a fine toothed comb. I knew what I intended to order before I arrived and I thought that I was informed about what to expect. While it is possible that the paper menu did not indicate that the Combo would come with the side of sushi rice, online it says that the Combo comes with it. I did not ask about the rice, but I should not have had to. I feel that I paid for the sushi rice and did not receive it. The staff was courteous, the sashimi was good, but I will not make the drive back. It was not that much better than a couple of places closer to where I live and it is cheaper by 25% or more...
