When it comes to culinary treasures, sometimes the most exceptional experiences are not always hidden away in obscure corners, but right out in the open, waiting to be discovered. This is the case with The Nashville Biscuit House, an unassuming gem nestled in East Nashville, TN.
The moment you lay eyes on the weathered signage and slightly dilapidated exterior, you might second-guess your breakfast choice. But don't be quick to judge a book by its cover. In the world of culinary delight, it's often the unexpected places that offer the most delightful surprises. The faded and sun-worn street-front sign or the worn-out facade are mere distractions from the gastronomic delights that await inside.
A glance around the entrance will reveal eager patrons lining up outside, some waiting on the curb, while others sit in their cars. This is a testament to the food's reputation—people are willing to endure a wait just to savor the breakfast here.
As you step through the front doors, you're greeted with a warm and friendly smile from the greeter, who efficiently guides you to an iPad for a quick registration. You'll provide your name and cell number, which is used to alert you when your table is ready. The beauty of this system is that it allows you to wait in your car or even head back home if you're a local. In our experience, the estimated 45-minute wait was surprisingly accurate, and the prospect of a delicious meal kept us patient.
The restaurant's waitstaff is the epitome of hospitality, embodying the friendly spirit of Southern service. Their attentive and kind demeanor sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.
When it comes to the menu, The Nashville Biscuit House doesn't disappoint. Like any true food enthusiasts, we decided to share several dishes to savor a variety of flavors. Our selections included the Lumber Jack, which comes with your choice of two pancakes or French toast, three eggs, bacon and sausage, home fries or grits, and toast or biscuit. We opted for the fluffy pancakes adorned with succulent blueberries, ham, and their signature biscuit. To complement this hearty meal, we couldn't resist ordering a side of biscuit and gravy.
Their motto, "Good Country Style Cooking," isn't just a catchphrase; it's a promise they fulfill with every plate. The restaurant boldly claims to be the "Best Breakfast in Nashville," and they back it up with flavors that resonate with the soul.
Depending on your location in the city, opting for an Uber or Lyft ride might be the most convenient choice. East Nashville can get quite busy, and parking spaces are limited. Surprisingly, the cost of a rideshare is often less than what you'd spend on parking, not to mention the hassle you'd save.
The restaurant does offer a drive-thru, although we can't be certain of its functionality for breakfast service. However, given the mouthwatering options available inside, we'd recommend dining in for the full experience. Perhaps the drive-thru comes into its own for their lunch menu.
What truly sets The Nashville Biscuit House apart is the global recognition it has received. Near the cash register, you'll spot a map adorned with pins representing patrons who have journeyed from around the world to indulge in their delectable offerings. It's clear from the restaurant's signage, website, and the attitude of its staff that they understand it's their customers who keep them in business, and they wholeheartedly respect and appreciate this fact.
Now, before you plan your visit to The Nashville Biscuit House, don't forget to check their website for essential information, including hours of operation, as this charming breakfast spot is a local treasure that you won't want to miss. Whether you're a local or a traveler passing through Nashville, your taste buds deserve to experience the culinary delight that awaits at this unassuming yet remarkable breakfast haven in East...
Read moreIt’s honestly pitiful if your business is hurting so badly for money that you rely on booting cars from your lot after hours when the restaurant is closed. I even called the restaurant we dined at to confirm whether the parking enforcement company was legitimate—it felt like a complete scam. The truck was beat-up with a magnetic sign slapped on the side, and the person removing the boot left a personal cell number as the contact. To top it off, there were multiple people in the truck laughing and having a great time while the boot was being taken off—completely unprofessional.
I considered calling your business to confirm if this enforcement company is actually affiliated with you, but after reading others' reviews, it’s clear this is a repeated issue. The restaurant we ate at was incredibly apologetic and told us this happens to their customers all the time. I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be for other businesses to operate next to you.
Yes, I understand it’s your property and you're within your rights to enforce parking rules. But having signs that say “Nashville Biscuit House Parking Only” is not sufficient to warn people that you actively boot cars when your business is closed. Many businesses allow after-hours parking, and your vague signage misleads people into thinking you do the same.
You’ve replied to multiple reviews insisting that your parking rules are “clearly posted.” If that were true, you wouldn’t be getting flooded with 1-star reviews all describing the same experience. Most people aren’t careless—we just weren’t given the information clearly.
Update your signage, or at the very least, act with some decency. The way you’re operating is petty, misleading, and frankly, pathetic. I will never step foot in your...
Read moreThis post is to share the love of the greatness that is Nashville Biscuit House! This East Nashville hole in the wall is hands down the best. You aren’t going to get mimosas or any extra fluff here, but what you are going to get is the best service and the best breakfast in town. My go to (every Saturday) is the Philly Steak Omelet, their crispy cubed home fries never disappoint and their toast is always perfectly buttered! My husband mixes it up and has raved over their biscuit sandwiches, pancakes and perfectly crisp bacon!
This is a family ran restaurant with mom Marie manning the kitchen and daughters Melissa and Mandy running the front of house. All the waitstaff is helpful to one another and they make frequent rounds to keep your coffee filled and hot! Biscuit House holds a very special place in my family’s heart! After my son was born and woke up at the crack of dawn, Biscuit House opens at 6:30 so it set our Saturday morning routine! We have gotten to know and love the entire staff, and they have gotten to know and love our little one and watch him grow!! Biscuit House is so kid friendly as well, offering little ones a “baby biscuit” the second they’re seated which gives parents time to look at the menu and enjoy themselves! If you arrive on the weekends after 9ish you may have a bit of a wait but IT’S WORTH IT!
I can’t sing their praises enough, just as incredible humans, but also as a business that has created an environment where you feel like you’re nestled into the kitchen of your most beloved family member, full of love and comfort knowing you’ll leave with a full belly.
Today was our last day living in Nashville and we made sure to go to Biscuit House one last time with our...
