Embarking on a culinary journey at East Side Banh Mi was a flavorful adventure that exceeded expectations. The excellence of the food, particularly the sandwiches, resonated with freshness that showcased a commitment to quality. The staff's friendliness and helpfulness in providing recommendations heightened the overall dining experience, ensuring a personalized touch. A standout in the menu was the spring rolls with peanut sauce—an extraordinary rendition that elevated the dish to new heights. The peanut sauce, in particular, stood out as a star, surpassing the ordinary and adding a layer of richness to the already impressive spring rolls. The sweet potatoes were a delightful surprise, showcasing a level of excellence that extended beyond the expected. The sandwiches, featuring bread that was not only fresh but also incredibly delicious, stood as a testament to the attention to detail in crafting each dish. Exploring the bowls, one with tofu and rice, and the other with beef and noodles, both proved to be excellent choices. The sauces accompanying the bowls added a burst of tastiness that enhanced the overall flavors. In summary, East Side Banh Mi is undeniably awesome—a culinary haven where excellent food, welcoming staff, and unique flavors converge to create a dining experience worth savoring. It's a place that transcends the ordinary, leaving a lasting impression on those seeking a delicious and memorable meal.

I have been a longtime fan of East Side Banh Mi. The flavors are always great, the bread amazing and the staff uber friendly. Today, I decided take my sandwich home, hence the Boatswain Hazy IPA from Trader Joe's in the pictures. It was a perfect day in East Nashville - sitting on the porch, savoring my Banh Mi, enjoying my IPA and watching the sun set. So I had the Veggie with Chili Crisp Tofu and Roasted Eggplant - my go to sandwich. But today, I would actually give it a 4.5 today if I could. What brought the sandwich down was the eggplant as it need a little more roast. For those of you who love eggplant like I do, you'll understand. Some of the eggplant had that little bit of crunchiness that can be a bit off-putting. But the bread was spot on - deliciously light, crispy and chewy. The spice level on the Tofu and with the sandwich was perfect for me - enough to slap you on the face, but not so much that it knocks you out. All in all very satisfying. If you are in East Nashville - you have to try East Side Banh Mi! PS - for the record, I generally stay away from any restaurant that was on DDD as almost all I have visited were just so-so. Sorry Guy. Side Banh Mi is a unicorn and really delivers on the food.

My husband loves a good Bahn Mi, so I brought him here for his birthday this past weekend. The Pork Bahn Mi did not disappoint! We both enjoyed everything about it and he said it was one of the best he’s had. I ordered the Broken Rice Bowl with Roasted Lemongrass Chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy but the lemongrass was not distinct. It was a great rice bowl - fresh and flavorful overall. We ordered the Half and Half, which is toasted peanut rice milk and Vietnamese iced coffee. The beverage was gritty and had a bitter flavor, so we only had a few sips. Our only critique about the setting is that it is not family friendly. The restaurant was chilly, so we had to keep a coat on our 8 month old. They also do not have highchairs, so we held him in our lap the entire meal. Before leaving, we needed to change his diaper but there are no changing tables in either restroom. Just some things to prepare for if you are a parent with young children.

East Side Bahnmi has quickly become my go-to spot for a tantalizing Vietnamese dining experience right at my doorstep in East Nashville. As a new resident of the neighborhood, discovering this hidden gem on Uber Eats has been an absolute delight. From their aromatic Vietnamese iced coffee to their extensive vegetarian-friendly menu, this place has completely won me over.

First and foremost, let's talk about the Vietnamese iced coffee – it's simply divine. Rich, bold, and perfectly balanced, this creamy elixir offers a delightful jolt of caffeine that perfectly complements the vibrant flavors of their dishes.

Speaking of dishes, the menu at East Side Bahnmi offers a plethora of options that cater to vegetarians like myself. It's refreshing to find a place that pays equal attention to its vegetarian offerings. The tofu bahn mi has quickly become a personal favorite. The combination of the soft and flavorful tofu, paired with the crispy baguette and the harmonious blend of pickled vegetables and herbs, creates a symphony of flavors that simply bursts in your mouth. It's a true testament to their commitment to creating exceptional vegetarian options.

But it doesn't stop there; the impossible rice and noodle bowls are equally remarkable. The marriage of the flavorful Impossible meat with the fragrant rice or delicate noodles is a match made in heaven. The depth of flavors, the freshness of the ingredients, and the careful balance of textures create a truly memorable dining experience.

I must make a special mention of the impossible sticks that come with the noodle bowl – they are out of this world. Bursting with savory umami flavors and boasting a perfect crispy exterior, these sticks are an absolute delight. They add an extra layer of indulgence to an already impressive dish. If only East Side Bahnmi would sell these sticks separately, I would gladly indulge in them on their own.

Overall, East Side Bahnmi has left an indelible impression on me. Their commitment to quality, attention to detail, and exquisite flavors make them a standout in the realm of bahn mi. I wholeheartedly give them a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat lover, East Side Bahnmi is a must-try destination for those seeking an unforgettable Vietnamese...

The baguette is excellent and freshly baked. You can see each piece of their menu being made. The pate is made in house which I highly appreciate. I ordered a #1 combination at approximately $12 for a bahn mi which makes it the most expensive Bahn mi I've ever purchased. However, I value the fact that they work so hard on making each ingredient by hand and was very excited to bite into it. It was also a pretty big sandwich.

The first bite was completely overtaken by the smokiness of their smoked ham(?). I felt like I was eating a thick piece of bacon, which is not what I associate with a typical combination bahn mi. I had about 3 bites before I had to set it down. I couldn't even appreciate the pate with the overwhelming smoky flavour. It wasn't until about an hour later that I tried another bite. This time, I could taste all the flavours and it was good. The baguette was still perfectly crispy and the ratio of pickled vegetables and cilantro was perfect. They were a little heavy on the pate, but I enjoyed that.

I wouldn't come here looking for traditional, which is what I was kind of expecting. Instead, it's an interesting blend of Southern Style and Vietnamese cuisine. I can see what they were aiming for. I would give this restaurant another try in the future but I don't think I would order another...
