There’s a place where the scent of coffee mingles with the scent of something deeper—something noble and good. The Well Coffeehouse isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s a testament to what people can do when their hands and hearts work in unison. They roast their own beans there, beans that tell stories of distant hillsides and sun-soaked villages. And the equipment they use—the gleaming machines, the precise instruments—they’re tools of a craft that feels more like art.
The baristas at The Well aren’t just pulling shots; they’re telling tales with every cup. They care, you can see it in the way they watch the crema bloom, the way they measure and tamp, the way they smile when they hand you a drink they’ve poured their soul into. My wife and I, we took one of their classes—Espresso Basics—and for a couple of hours, we were apprentices in their world. We learned about roast levels, about fermentation methods, about the journey a bean takes from seed to cup. We came out of it a little wiser, a little more appreciative of the magic in something as simple as a cup of coffee.
But The Well isn’t just about coffee; it’s about water. Fresh water, the kind of thing we take for granted but some villages only dream about. The profits from their coffee fund missions that build wells in places where water doesn’t flow freely. You think about that when you’re sipping one of their lattes or cold brews—that somewhere, someone is drinking clean water because of this place.
So go there, sit a while, and drink their coffee. It’s good, as good as anything you’ll find. But it’s more than that—it’s hope in a cup, a reminder that even in a small act, there’s a chance to do...
Read moreThis must be a new policy because i've been to the establishment before and was able to get the drink I wanted. Just half the amount of the espresso in a latte. They will not accommodate because of their policy; stating it is a quality issue - even though the consumer knows & wants just half a shot of espresso and not two full shots. Again, the customer willing to PAY is requesting something, but it's going to be denied because someone else has decided it is better than what the CUSTOMER, who knows what they like, Great business model. So let's not give the consumer what they want, but let's force them to accept what we want to give them because we know better. I even asked thet pour the other halj of the shot into another cup... DENIED! Completely moronic.
Gone are the days of, "The customer is always right."
I've been to numerous other coffee houses and never an issue. So if you want a no choice, take what we give you, I can't think for myself type of coffee shop, than this is the...
Read more$8.85 for 5 shots over ice. Waited 16 minutes for my bagel breakfast sandwich. When it finally came it was a cold bagel with a piece of cold cheese thrown on top of cold egg. The manager said that this wait time is normal. This was around 9am and not busy at all. The online order area was empty and the cooks kept popping in and out of the kitchen to chat with the baristas. So why 16 mins? I love trying to support local businesses but when the quality of the food is worse than the nuked sandwiches at Starbucks and twice the price it doesn’t make sense. The manager asked for my name and with a very weak, canned apology stated he would refund the purchase. I said that would only be necessary for the sandwich since there was nothing wrong with the coffee. He insisted he would refund my entire order. He lied. Instead I received a 20% off coupon shortly after leaving. No...
