This theater has a lot of teething issues it needs to get over before I go back. Went for the first time last night to see the 6 PM premiere of Justice League. First off, it's incredibly difficult to locate the theater at night if you've never been there before. It was already dark outside when we arrived and there were zero lights on in the parking lot or on the front of the theater, so we had to drive around the area a bit to even find it and the parking lot. Even after the movie was over, the parking lot still was not lit up, which makes locating your car quite fun, not to mention the safety aspects of such a poorly lit place.
Inside the lobby, there were only two self-serve ticket kiosks, and one was being taken up for an incredibly long amount of time by a very confused woman, so that left us waiting for quite a long time for the one usable kiosk. It would be much better if you could just do the QR code scanning where the ticket taker is like you can at Opry Mills. You obviously can't do that here, because they didn't even have a ticket taker! We could've just as easily waltzed right into the theater to watch the movie without buying a ticket.
The worst part was the actual movie experience itself. When the trailers started, there was only audio and no video for quite a few minutes because it appeared that the projectionist did not switch over from the projector used for the commercials before the trailers to the main projector used for the trailers and movie. This wasn't a big deal, except once the trailers started I very quickly noticed that the framing was a bit off and that a lot of content was being cut off of the bottom of the screen. As the trailers went on and the movie started, it was very clear that both the top and bottom of the screen were cropped, as there were constantly shots with the top of actors' heads cut off and the opening credits frequently had names on the bottom that were cut off. I can only assume the sides were cropped as well since the whole screen was taken off. As someone who pays a lot of attention to visual quality and issues like incorrect framing and aspect ratios, this was a huge disappointment. I would never pay to see a movie like The Last Jedi here if there's a chance that issues like this are going to persist. I will come back in a month or two to test the theater out again on a less important movie to see if they've gotten their teething issues sorted out, but I would say for now, don't risk going to see a movie like The Last Jedi here, because they don't seem quite ready to actually be open for big feature films yet.
The only plus was really that the theater was quite clean and the seats were very comfy, but that did not make up for the otherwise...
Read moreThe general AMC experience is just bad. Now we get commercials before the previews and they don't even kick off the lights and turn on the sound for the previews anymore. The cheapest food imaginable, spun sugar and corn, is more expensive than ever. When you walk in there is a line for MVP membership holders, but there's no actual rhyme or reason to who is served first, it's just some arbitrary feature to make you feel like a jerk. I would much rather still have the old Bellevue 12, I would even accept the old Bellevue 8 with its sticky seats and smelly rooms because at least in those theaters you did not feel like you were being robbed. The commercials and the 30 to 45 minutes of previews alone is unforgivable. Fix your lighting and sound! This goes for all AMC theaters, not just Bellevue.
Edit - The Bellevue AMC is worse every time I go.. Everything is always sticky in the main hall. The self serve drink machines barely work, the popcorn is stale, so many frustrating things. I highly recommend showing up 30 minutes late and bringing your own snacks. They're not even trying.
Edit 8/10/25 - This theater is for better or worse my local theater. Went to see Weapons today because it's a movie I've been looking forward to. I really try to NOT go to the movies anymore, particularly AMC theaters, particularly THIS theater, but I don't mind for a movie I've been really looking forward to since any other theater is essentially the same dice roll and I've learned to put up with the rough experience. As usual, half of the concessions machines are broken. It was very busy and only one like was open. Everything is still sticky and gross and the small theater smells when you walk in.
All of that I can accept and I don't care about because I just want to see the movie. We saw Weapons in the smallest theater room at Bellevue AMC today. The volume of the film was low and it was blurry and dark the whole time. I know many films today are kind of dark and desaturated but this was not an issue with the film, the projection was just very bad. There was also a huge part of the screen with a red blur on it because there's a big bright red Exit sign right next to the screen. We were very lucky that the audience was quiet otherwise I wouldn't have been able to hear anything. The quality of the projection and sound was shameful. That's the one thing that a MOVIE THEATER should get right and they can't even do that.
AMC is complete garbage. Watch movies at home with cheap surround sound and you'll have a 10x better experience. It's worse every...
Read moreMy family came here to have family time and this white " mother surpremacist " and daughter figure snooty, rude, disrespectful didn't get in line, instead they not only cut in line they didn't stand for what IS just and morally right. The boy cashier big time apologized for his behavior towards us and agreed he shouldn't have done what he did, to compensate he gave us a discount on our popcorn and we didn't get charged for bottled water. We accept his apology and my husband told me that he prayed in line for the snooty, disgruntled in the heart white " mother supremacist" that she reaps what she sows. She reminds me of Ethan Couch's family, Ethan murdered my youth pastor in Burleson, TX and because of that type of behavior I can't stand snooty ppl. I will be civil if they are civil. To the white cashier, thank you for your verbal and action apology. We will come back to this theater again. Just because you live in snooty richy neighborhood doesn't mean your behavior has to be indifferent of your fellow man.You can choose to seek and act accordingly to the way you want to be respected. Everyone has choices everyday of their life. The golden rule + turn the other cheek, easier said than done, however if you want your kids to honor you, you must set good examples. You can have church anywhere anytime. To the white mother supremacist, do not be disgruntled with your daughter if she gets dumb aka drinking, smoking, drugs pot ect.. you teacher her how to respect you. So far your actions are unethical as a parent period. Whether I like it or not Jesus loves you, so correct your motherly duties. I know my kids are well educated and honor my...
