First, I’m  a HUGE fan for Waffle House, having eaten at many WH across the southeast for the past 40 years.  I was excited when this one opened near my home.  I waited a year before going because my neighbors had been and said they needed to get their act together.  Bad service, food not prepared properly, etc.  Well, it seems after over a year, they still don’t have it together. Second, the food was well below par for  a WH.  The waffle I ordered was soggy, the grits were dark, hard, lumpy and tasted nothing like grits.  I tried to doctor the grits up but they were still not edible.  The toast was past “toasted.”  During my meal, the server never came back & asked if everything was ok. I had to get someone's attention for coffee refills. To top it off, the music was blaring with Top 40 Hip Hop.  I don’t mind music in a restaurant but I found it way too loud and not appropriate for the customers.  With that said, the staff seemed barely out of high school.  Maybe in a few years I’ll try it again. Meanwhile, I’ll go to the one up by...

Usually when we go, we always feel welcome but this time, the service was nothing like usual. The tables were dirty and we stood and wait for at least 10mi minutes wsiting on someone to talk to us and all she said was have yall ordered and i told her no that we were waiting on a table and she acted like it inconvenienced her to have to clean off the table. After she finally took our order, The waitress nvr came back to the table to refill our drink & then she went outside to smoke while she had customers to wait on. The one cook, she looked like she was mad bc she was having to cook. Our server was more worried about the people behind us bc she knew who they were. They were Loud and very obnoxious.

The gentleman that made our food was amazing and he is the one that brought to us our food instead of our server. He's the one that deserved the tip, definitely not her.

This was the first time that we did not leave a tip bc it was not worth it. Waffle house has always been our favorite place to eat but it just wasn't Saturday night the 22nd and they really wasn't that busy either.

So I choose this waffle house over the many surrounding locations. The reason why is the food is usually best here. The location is hard to get to especially if you are headed towards Walmart from target (eastbound on Lebanon Pike). You can barely turn in. Going towards donelson is not bad. Now I was there tonight and got an exceptional take out order but they were out of to go bowls and to go syrups. Everytime I have eaten there at the store I had above average service and once again great food. But tonight was a slow night, partially due to road repair but also.I think I was between crowds, past dinner not yet late owl. So if you are doing to go or just concerned about food this...
