Unbelievably horrible!! The waitress was beyond bad. We went during a slow time but the place was filthy. Almost every table was dirty. Still littered with used plates, cups, used napkins, nasty. The waitress came to take our order. We felt like we were imposing on her. She had been loudly questioning the accuracy of her tips and had to stop to wait on us. That was the last she bothered with us until she brought the bill. After she took our order, she picked up some receipts and sat at the counter adding her tips. We knew this because she had loudly asked the only person there that was working, the cook, about how money she felt she was owed, wasn't given to her. The 1st time she asked him, he told her he doesn't handle that and wouldn't know. The 2nd time he told her he doesn't know. He finally lost his patience and told her she needed to talk to management. All this while she is ignoring her customers, sitting 5 feet away from us, adding her tips and complaining, loudly, about being shorted, on company time!! The cook let her know our food was ready. She stayed seated and told him to take it to use!! She added a very insincere please. All while still involved with her tip situation. The cook brought our food with to go packets of plastic fork, knife, napkins. We asked for silverware. He went to get it for us and she asked him if we asked for real silverware. He said yes and she made a sound to show her disgust. She never bothered with us again until the bill but he did. As he cooked, he made sure we had what we needed and were pleased with our food. Which we were. The absolute highlight of this adventure was the waitress was wearing dirty, nasty HOUSE SLIPPERS with dirty nasty socks!!!!!!! I highly recommend you avoid this place like the plague. First time I haven't left a tip. I did tip...
Read moreHomeless Haven, and So overpriced!!!!!! This place has ONLY 2 good booths!!!! We were seated at the only booth left available, and in the booth next to us, had 2 homeless men, both sound asleep, and filthy, nasty, stinking to high heaven!!!! * Before we ordered, the manager brought both homeless men each, a plate that was stacked as high as a thanksgiving FEAST!!!!! Those homeless men, each gobbled down all that free food in about 2 minutes flat!! Then, lickety split....they were GONE!!! My Wife and I, placed no special orders. We had NO HASH BROWNS!!!! We ordered 2 small plates each, 1 plate for each of us. Each plate had only 2 eggs each plate, 1 sausage patty each plate, 1 slice of toast each plate, with 1 measley cup of coffee for each of us!!. When I FINALLY got the bill, I could have FAINTED.....and simply fell to the FLOOR!!!! Just one cup of coffee at Waffle house rang up to $3.25 for 1cup at 6 oz per cup each!!!! Before tip, the total came to $24.66!!! WHAT????? With tip we spent $30.00!!!!! At home, this meager ("poor man's breakfast"), would cost us a measly $1.45 for each plate!!!! We will NEVER go back to any Waffle House again. Np way, never, ever, again!!!! Maybe iHop??? YES, Waffle House?? Never again!!!! As devoted Christians, we do/did have compassion for those homeless men needing to eat. We tried to overlook the fact that they FREELY invited in homeless men to feed....But my goodness!!! THE STINK!!!! In a restaurant no less!!! Luckily, those stinky men left the restaurant before we finally did order...
Read moreWaffle House needs to be consistent about applying any military discount. It's frankly disrespectful and unacceptable for them to offer it at most locations throughout the country where I've been throughout the years but not all. It puts the customer in an unnecessary awkward position.
Waffle House wants their food more than I do. I'm no longer giving my business to Waffle House on principle until they simply fix this issue. This can simply be fixed by Corporate consistently requiring that all locations apply the military discount or make the policy that no locations apply any military discount. Consistency is the point.
I'm requesting that others reading this take a stand (military and non military) to bring enough attention to this matter so that Corporate does the right thing.
I gave Corporate a chance. The rep that I had spoken with simply indicated that they allow discretion at each location as to whether to apply military discount or not. Not her exact words but the translation in fairness. I requested to speak with someone in management, and she refused any escalation. Unacceptable on that front as well.
I will ensure that this gets posted in as many locations online to bring awareness to this issue on principle.
I don't expect any company to offer a military discount for the record. It's appreciated when they do, though, of course. The issue here is the inconsistent application of the military discount across the Waffle House brand. It's frankly damaging...
