Cinco De Mayo Méxican Restaurant -Whitebridge — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

I have patronized the White Bridge location since moving to the North Nashville area eight years ago. Never in my experiences there or any other restaurant have I received such horrible service from management. The wait staff was great! They were attentive and courteous. However, the female manager today, Cinco de Mayo, was rude and disrespectful.

A group of colleagues and myself decided to go after work today. There were about 12 of us and I will admit that we were a bit noisy, but considering we were in a separate area of the restaurant, were no louder than any other group of patrons. The manager came over once and asked us to quiet down. One co-worker asked if there was a complaint and she responded that there wasn't but she and another waiter were speaking and couldn't hear each other. The co-worker apologized and we continued our conversation. When the noise level elevated again, she then came into our seating area, waited until we finished conversation and then specifically told another co-worker of mine "Could you please use your inside voice?" With that comment we decided to leave. Not only was the comment rude, but as educators who were spending our hard earned money in this establishment, we felt like we were being treated like children.

I apologize for the details; however, I wanted to put my comments in true perspective. The food was decent, the drinks were good, and so was the service from our wait staff. The manager could take a lesson in customer care and tact in dealing with large groups. As a business teacher, I'd be more than happy to show her how to handle such situations.

I gave a review of two stars as the service of the waiters and quality of food and drinks didn't warrant one star. Take the review as you want, but I can assure you that I will not patronize this establishment again. For those who know me, know that I am serious about customer service and being treated fairly as a such. If I say that I won't spend another dime there, that goes for the entire franchise. Pleasantly surprised with this Mexican restaurant! I’ve tried several around Nashville and it is definitely one of the best. For starters, the chips and salsa...chips were nice and fresh and the salsa was delicious and just like I love it. It had finely chopped onions and cilantro in it to give a delicious texture. We also ordered the cheese dip. While it’s hard to mess up a cheese dip, this was certainly the best around town. It was a great start to our meal and the server added a nice first impression. He was friendly and served us immediately. My friend had a beef burrito and taco combo that he loved. I tasted a bite of his beef burrito and found that the beef had a nice seasoned flavor vs the bland beef I have experienced prior, at other restaurants. I wasn’t too hungry and ordered the chicken quesadilla off of the al la carte menu. This menu item is the reason for my 4 stars. Though it was loaded with deliciously flavored chicken, it was very wet and actually was too much chicken. So, my quesadilla was soggy on the bottom within a couple minutes. I tried putting a napkin in my plate to soak up the juice but it wasn’t able to soak it all up. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Myself and a couple of friends went for drinks at this Mexican restaurant. I’ve been dining here several years and never had an issue but this particular evening, I show my driver’s license and the server doesn’t believe it’s me. I verified my address & birthdate like they asked.. still didn’t believe me. I showed several cards with my name on it… still didn’t believe me. Even smiled and pointed out my one dimple that’s showing in my DL pic… still didn’t believe I was me. The manager didn’t believe me. I’m like.. what else do you want from me?! The harassment was crazy. The manager was rude and refused to give his name or call the owner. The whole situation was stressful. Allll that for a margarita. You would’ve thought I was about to cross the border!! I know I look younger than my age, but baby that’s just genetics💁🏽‍♀️ They really thought I was carrying a fake ID at my big age of 31 and refused to serve me.
