This was the worst Mexican food, or really any food I’ve had in any restaurant in any city, and I’ve been to many taco places around Nolensville, etc, and restaurants in general in the US and other countries. Wow.
We got a side order of beans, and they were kind of gross and had no flavor at all, so we added salt, but they were still somehow gross. My daughter had asada tacos (steak), and they were actually decent. I had the barbacoa sopes, and those were what really made this place earn my worst restaurant ever rating. The meat was fatty, and I don’t mean your typical occasional chunks of fat that you might find one or two of in a taco. I mean that 75% of the meat on that thing were bite size chunks of fat. The remaining meat had a kind of soggy, disgusting, consistency. I tried removing the fat chunks and eating the remaining meat, but after several bites I was like, “why am I even eating this? It’s not worth it, even though I’m hungry!” The pickled carrots were also not good, and they hadn’t even...
Read moreNormally stop by after work and get carnita tacos and a side of rice, due to the convenient drive-thru. Today, got 2 barbacoa tacos, 2 carnita tacos, 2 pastor tacos and a small side of rice. Tacos are $2 and normally they charge $1 for a small side of rice. Total today was $15? Guy said sorry, that is the total? Anyway, got home and the barbacoa tacos had two small pieces of pure fat on both. Literally, no meat on either, just pure fat. Carnita tacos were fine as normal, pastor tacos had a small amount of meat compared to the carnitas but at least wasn't pure fat. Also, they have a sign in the window saying they give a discount for using cash, but I got charged more? I have been going here for over 3 years and every so often, you get the shaft. Done dealing with this place, will just order pickup from an established place...
Read moreDespite my initial anticipation, my visit to Taqueria Don Carbon Express left much to be desired. The exterior of the food truck was notably dirty, which didn't set a positive tone. While their menu boasted a variety of traditional Mexican dishes, the flavors fell short of expectations. The food was decent but lacked the vibrant and bold tastes I associate with authentic Mexican cuisine.
Overall, while Taqueria Don Carbon Express may satisfy a craving for Mexican food in a pinch, it didn't leave a lasting impression. With the cleanliness issue and lackluster flavors, it's not a top recommendation for those seeking an exceptional...
