I was nervous because I like what I like. especially when it's birria. And I don't really like most places, especially since birria is the most recent food fad in San Diego. But I tried this place based on a friend's recommendation, and I'm glad I did. The birria was excellent. I had sin tortilla tacos, and they did that very well too. They were nicely crisped and browned. And the portions were generous but not comically large. They were served with some really tasty pickled and peppered onions which were good on their own, but raised the tacos to another level. The added texture and crunch of the onions in the tacos is really nice. And I have no idea what is in the salsa, but someone clearly created it specifically for birria. It's really good. Like I asked for a spoon and just ate two or three spoonfuls of just the salsa because it's so good. It's not really hot but it's definitely tasty. My food was served quite quickly. I mean within about 5 minutes of ordering, which makes sense because it's birria. This place deserves that you at least give it a try. I have gone back twice now and will continue to visit. These are the type of places that we need...

This family owned Mexicaneatery makes some very good food.

I had the beef birria fluatas or crispy corn rolled tacos and a malcriada house taco, which came with beef birria and pork Belly on a corn tortilla.

The beef birria fluatas were good, but they were a little over fried, as a result, dried the juicy beef birria inside the fluatas. Nevertheless, the they were tasty and very dipped in the birria consommé. The consommé was delicious.

The malcriada taco was absolutely delicious. The combination of the savory pork belly and juicy and tender beef birria were outstanding. The tacos came with a touch of chopped onions ans cilantro.

Due try the salsa macha in the bottle that is offered on the tables. It's terrific and went well with both items I order.

The service is super friendly and welcoming. It's fast and casual, and they offer inside and outside seating. Menudo is also available...

Went with my mom and we tried the taco de birria con tripa, taco de birria con chicharrón prensado, and the one with shrimp...all I can say is that everything was GREAT. The flavors are on another level, especially with their green sauce on the chicharrón taco. We tried the taco de birria con tripa, the taco de birria con chicharrón prensado, and the taco de chicharrón prensado con camarón...each one was bold, flavorful, and unlike anything I’ve had before. The green sauce especially took the chicharrón taco to another level, perfectly balancing all that richness.Not your typical birria spot at all.

On top of that, the service was amazing. They kept checking on us, made us feel welcome, and the whole vibe was great. Even got a few cool photo spots like the big red chair outside. Definitely coming back...great food, great people,...
