Review for Mr. Pulpo Restaurant
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mr. Pulpo, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience!
Delicious Food From the moment I took my first bite, I was blown away by the flavors. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the chef's incredible talent. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the presentation was nothing short of stunning. The highlight for me was the octopus, perfectly grilled and bursting with flavor. Every dish I tried was a delightful blend of spices and textures that left my taste buds dancing.
Exquisite Service The service at Mr. Pulpo was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were eager to recommend dishes and pairings, enhancing our dining experience. It felt like we were being treated like royalty throughout the evening.

Read moreI was super excited this place was opening close to home. We have been going since the owners changed. The owner was a young lady who was holding it down on her own because the lack of patrons. Also they were in process of getting the beer license so a lot of individuals were waiting on that. Not us we like beer but we love beer.
I love the ceviche there. Both the fish and shrimp ceviche are tasty. When I'm in a hurry I'll even pick it up to go. The husband chooses a burrito, sometimes he will spice it up and get the surf and turf burrito. It's usually carne asada for him. I've tried the aguachile all the the different ceviches, I think I've even had most of the tacos. Everything was great. The agua de limon is made fresh and divine.
It's a usual spot for some National City residents who want a beer and maybe to listen to corridos. If you visit let me know I'll...
Read moreI was introduced to this amazing seafood spot by a good friend, and wow—what a find! I tried the Mr. Pulpo Taco (octopus taco), which was lightly breaded and deep-fried with mozzarella cheese. It was incredibly juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. A must-try!
I also had their Fish Taco, which seems to be their go-to item—and now I see why. Perfectly cooked and seasoned—definitely another must-have.
The Tostada de Aguachile was also a hit! Not too spicy—just the right amount of heat. I loved that they offered four different sauces to customize the flavor along with limes and their consume soup. And of course, I had to get a Michelada to wash it all down—salty, refreshing, and delicious.
This place in National City is officially my new go-to for mariscos. Ask for Imelda!
