Rodeway doesn't deserve even one star!!! The STAFF and SERVICE was AWFUL!! Check-in for the three of was at 2pm. We were given the key for our room on the first floor, but the cleaning lady just started on our room and it wasn't ready until 2:25pm. We reserved the room for three people but were only given two towels. I asked the lady at check-in for the third towel, but she rudely told me she was working and it's not her job to get me a towel. She said I had to talk to the cleaning lady on the second floor. I asked her to please talk to the cleaning lady for me, because I was trying to get settled, but again she was extremely rude and said that's not her job. Then the check-in lady pointed at the cleaning lady on the second floor and told me that's where I had to go for a towel. I went to the lady she pointed at, on the second floor, but that cleaning lady told me I had to go to the other side and ask the other cleaning lady. I told her I wasn't going to keep walking around for a single towel. The one I was standing next to finally got the other one's attention, but that one argued with me about giving me a third towel. She said there is only two of us staying in the room. I told her three of us checked in. Several minutes later, I was finally given a third towel. I didn't know asking for a towel had to be in the employees job description in order for a guest to get one. It's definitely not my job, especially being a guest at this hotel. If check-in is a 2pm, why were they still cleaning rooms? It wasn't busy and we shouldn't have had to wait. There's a fresh spider web behind the front door that's collecting stuff. The laminate flooring has some pieces missing throughout the room, and some of the flooring is raised, causing me to trip. The room was supposed to have a microwave, but it didn't, and the TV only had snow. The hotel should compensate us, or give us a discount, for the extremely poor service, our room not being ready, and everything wrong with the room. I am never again staying at a hotel with this name and I don't recommend it to anyone!! I'm going to make sure none of my friends or family stay in a...
Read moreMy night at the Roadway INN in National City was In one word pleasant. It actually came as a surprise, because I was supposed to stay at the Clarion next door. But due to their policy they will not accept cash for the room deposit which I think is retarded. Any way I got a room at the Roadway INN instead. At first I was apprehensive about staying there since my last stay at the San Ysidro Roadway was anything but pleasant. But I gave it a shot any way. Well from the outside it doesn't look to impressive. I walked up to the window and the guy at first was a lil short with me, but quickly changed it around when he saw I wasn't up to any shenanigans. He was very helpful and respectful. So we get in the room and it was nothing like I expected. The room actually looked like the room I. The pictures they show on the web site. 2 queen size beds, lots of room, nice furniture. Newer 45" or so flat screen on the wall, cable with all the channels not just a couple, like other places. Very clean and smelled nice. Bathroom was a bit smaller then I'd like but I wasn't complaining. Around 11o'clock kids were st i bouncing around, and we got a phone call from the front desk asking to please tone it down. He was very nice and respectful about it all. In the morning we over slept the check out by almost an hour. But the nice young lady did not make a big deal about it. I was about an hour late and she didn't take money out of my deposit like the Quality inn does in San ysidro. She was also very nice and polite and invited me back for a stay anytime I'd like. She even offered me a discount on my next visit. All in all I had a nice stay. Clean, quiet, respectable staff. I would definitely go back to the Roadway...
Read moreThe room smells like it used to be a smoking room. There is a sticky grease like residue under the head board. I was stretching at the time and my fingers caught some of this sludge. The carpet left an oily residue on my bare feet. The bathroom lights would flicker on and off for a couple seconds before turning on. The tub is dirty and water accumulates in the middle of it, which has left an unsightly stain. The toilet paper holder is falling apart, you can see through the drywall and into the structure of the wall. Electric plugs, the covers are crooked, therefore revealing the inside of the wall. Overall poor attention to detail. I would wake up in the middle of the night to hear someone flush. I am a heavy sleeper. The manager's family is easily visible from the front desk eating in their dining room. The reception seems like it is someone's home with Choice Hotels signs and advertisement all over it. It did not feel or seem worth the value I paid for. Next time I would rather spend the night at a different 3 star hotel. Management needs to be more professional and spend some time on detailing your rooms. On the plus side, it was a hot and humid day, the fridge cooled down my water very well, the AC is cold and cooled down the room pretty quickly, and the bed is comfortable (just try no to touch under the headboard) The staff members who checked me in and out were friendly and courteous and speedy about...
