Classic Rock Coffee Co. & Kitchen — Restaurant in Navasota

Absolutely the worst ever experience. It should have been simple - I needed two boxes of brewed coffee for an office meeting nearby. I called on Thursday, the day before the meeting, and spoke with a very nice young woman who took the order, confirmed the price and the coffee blend, and the pickup time on Friday. I called Friday morning on my way there from Houston to let them know i'd be about 20 min early for the pickup, with the hope that it could be ready early. The discussion I had with the woman I spoke with: Her: "I don't know what you're talking about. I have no idea about your order. You want a box of coffee? Beans or ground coffee? In a box?" Me: "No, I need to-go brewed coffee for a meeting. I ordered two boxes of that yesterday for pickup this morning." Her: "Well I have no idea what you're talking about, we don't take orders for the next day." Me: "Well can you start brewing it now, so that in about 30 min when I get there it might be ready?" Her: "Sure I can do that." Upon arrival: Me: "I'm here to pick up the two boxes of coffee we spoke about." Her: "Yeah wait a min and then I'll tell you about that." After finishing up an order.. "So I talked to my GM and he said we don't do that." Me: "Seriously - you took the order yesterday. And all you had to do this morning was start brewing So you don't have any coffee for me?" Her: "Yeah that's right. You can talk to the GM if you want." Me: "Yes, I'd like to talk to him." Her: "He's not here. You can call him." I'm still in a sort of "customer experience shock" that this cute coffee shop could offer such a miserable experience. I'd strongly recommend avoiding it. If I could rate them Zero...

To be fair, I have written supportive reviews of Classic Rock in the past. When we have eaten there, we appreciated the decor that jostled fun memories and the casual food. I considered it a go-to when in the area. Yesterday I was really happy to share this experience with my daughter and grand-daughter. It was more crowded than usual because of the Big Boy train, so the longer line was not a surprise. After standing in line some time, we reached the counter and...."our kitchen just closed". I knew I had to have misunderstood, "You mean you aren't serving those who have been in line?" The cashier sadly had no authority or recourse to even add more information other than a shrug and, "I just got told we were closed." There are so many passes and explanations I could come up with, but I've never been in a restaurant (or grocery, or whatever) that didn't at least indicate that the line was closed to more so people knew not to wait. But how do you not know you were running out of food, or time, or whatever in a way to let customers know you didn't prepare inventory to support your business hours. It's possible they opened specifically for this special occasion, but that just takes me back to either planning or communication. This was a really disappointing experience, but mostly I'm disappointed in the lack of positive customer...

I really liked this places. You would not believe that in the middle of Navasota, TX (Beautiful Washington Ave. though) where if you do not pay attention you will just pass by this town; there is that cool place with that great atmosphere with several spaces where to chill out. You can also buy that old LP you are missing in your collection (BTW, I got two doubles), and look at the more than enough guitars, posters, decorations and memorabilia they have on display.

There are only two reasons I'm not giving 5 stars: Number one is because we didn't eat there since we already ate "Chinese". So, we wanted to grab a good espresso coffee after lunch. So we just googled it, and VOILA! We didn't even imagine there is a place so cool like this there. Do not take me wrong I like Navasota, but now more than before. So, I have another excuse to stop by there to have some lunch in a cool place. And number two, my espresso wasn't that good, although my wife's latte was Okay somehow she got a cold latte instead of her hot one. We will definitely come back again and give it another try and this time we'll eat to try the food, and to get another coffee for sure. I'm very certain next time we will give...
