Service was terrible when we visited on Saturday, Aug. 15 around 11:30 a.m./noon. We ordered three sandwiches - 2 BSTs and 1 Italian - and then a cup of apple cider. The apple cider was delicious, which got the restaurant that 2nd star. The sandwiches took TWENTY FIVE minutes to come out, were completely overpriced at $10 a piece and sub par as far as taste and quality. The tomatoes on the BSTs were old and mushy. The bread had been over toasted. I had to go up to the counter twice to ask where our sandwiches were. The 1st time a guy told me they were being finished up. The 2nd time, I see our sandwiches just sitting next to the cashier, which is when I had to actually point to them to the server. Seriously???
Also, love the idea of using the yellow rocks to indicate that a table needs to be cleaned, but it only works if you follow through. When we showed up, there were a ton of empty tables with yellow rocks that hadn't been cleaned yet. And no one in sight to help.
We won't be back. Also, terrible place to bring the kids considering they take 30 MINUTES to make simple sandwiches. My 2- and 4-year-olds could have made the sandwiches faster than...
Read moreNot sure how this place has so many amazing reviews, maybe the coffee is good but the pastries definitely are not. The owners are rude and didn't follow covid 19 precautions while baking for their customers, we saw them baking with masks down around the neck or off the face completely, and they responded very rudely when being called out on it. You put your customers at risk then act rudely to them? Sorry not good business practice. Putting that whole thing completely aside, it still isn't good. We were excited to get a present from our new neighbors of cinnamon rolls from this bakery when we moved into town as it is one of the first things you see, and who doesnt like fresh baked goods. They were tasteless with minimal frosting, but we were very thankful for the gift. Wait about a week and we go inside to try a different pastry and once again it was like eating cardboard, no exaggeration. Zero taste. We have tried the Croissants, the peach pastry and the cinnamon rolls and all were tasteless and blah. I have zero issues with tasting food, my tatste buds work fine. So beware, a waste of money unless you like eating cardboard. To each their own...
Read moreI am torn on this review. I was referred to this place by a local and I was eager to try you guys out. While I never actually got to the window nor did I ever get to even order, the treatment received by locals while waiting in line was appalling. I know that a small community like Nederland its easy to see when someone is an outsider. Its true, i was an outsider. My father, son and I were all berated because we did not have masks, outside, standing in line. One lady said they will not serve you because you do not have masks. I according to governor rules, masks are required for entering an establishment. The same lady said she knew the owners well and that there was no way we would be served. When the guy at the front of the line walked away from the window with his food and no mask, she had no response. We just went to our vehicle and left. Good job Nederland, you must not need tourism money! Everyone stay away from this community. They will not welcome any outsiders! New Moon, sorry for this review as I feel that your own customers took your opportunity to serve us away from you. But alas, it happened in your line, so you...
