Mountain Peak Cafe — Restaurant in Nederland

I used to live in Nederland and saw this building change ownership multiple times and I tried them all. Mountain Peak Cafe is BY FAR my favorite!! All of the staff was very friendly and our wait person was beyond delightful with an infectious smile!

My friend drove up from Erie to meet me for when they open at 7am and the coffee was already ready for us! She had an omelet with the wait person's recommended Boursin cheese and veggies with hash browns. I had tofu, black beans, and veggies scramble with home fries. Our food arrived quickly, in less than 15 minutes from when we ordered. My friend loved hers and said the Boursin cheese selection was perfect! My vegan dish was VERY flavorful, moreso than I expected given the basic ingredients! Both were very sizable portions!! We had 2 mimosas each and coffee and everything was delicious!! We left stuffed, a little giddy from the bubbles and with leftovers that I'm already looking forward to!

I absolutely love this place. If you don’t try their freshly made Fl doughnuts to order than you’re missing out. Served up with a berry sauce and fresh whipped cream and they are very generous with the cream.

I don’t want to review until I’ve had about half of their menu. The burger is first rate, and their fries are seasoned perfectly. The breakfast is a smash hit for me. Really anything in the breakfast menu; which is ALL DAY, is all tasty. And lo and behold, I find out that this place is owned and operated by the people who run Kathmandu Restaurant across the street. Which we love as well. So it’s no wonder this place rocks!

We came in for breakfast. The pancakes were okay, but they were supposed to have whipped cream and wine berries. The waiter forgot to put those on, so we informed him and he brought them later on separate little plates, but the amount of berries was maybe a tablespoon at the most. The eggs were not cooked as we ordered. The waffles were overcooked and the sausage was McDonalds quality. Also they only have one pancake on one of our plates that was supposed to have two. The waiter was not friendly or particularly apologetic for any of these issues. When it came time to pay, the waiter was nowhere to be found so we finally had to ask another employee...
