Jernigan's Tap House & Grill — Restaurant in Nevada City

My grandparents and significant other went here for the first and the last time last night. We chose to sit outside next to the fire pit since we couldn’t go inside because my grandfather has hearing aids. The waitress that we had forgot about us three times to the point of where she didn’t know where we were even sitting when we asked for the check to leave, then never brought back the card. The food took over an hour to get to us after we had ordered and by the time we got it, it was lukewarm. Our server was busy flirting with the men at the bar and forgot to give us our food that had been ready for quite awhile (about 10-15 minutes). On top of this, items had been forgotten on certain burgers and buns were soggy. When we would go ask for things as simple as boxes, it was apparent that we were a burden since our server gave us quite the attitude and eye roll along with a scoff. My grandfather was so angry with our service that none of us wanted to ask for new food since we assumed we would have to have another extremely long wait. After having to constantly ask for our necessities, instead of being waited on, we never received an apology or acknowledgement of the crappy service we had received. My go to burger joint. A local standard! I went here on my wedding day for Pete's sake! :) We needed lunch before the reception. The owner Sean is a great guy with impeccable taste in baseball and this place shows true character reflected in its San Francisco Giants themed decor and sports bar style feel. Custom made gong rings true with every Giants homerun and the place is raucous on game day! Family friendly with a great kids menu and something for everyone including vegetarian entrees. FRICKLES!! Don't sleep on this classic pub treat :o cap it off with Kraut dogs or one of the killer dinner options. Couple with one of the multiple fry choices, fat onion rings or switch it up with a bomb garden salad topped with blue cheese. Any way you go it won't be the wrong choice. I have ordered everything on the menu aside from the Portobello burger. I had a bite of my wife's and really liked it! TRY THE SPECIAL!! These guys put together some combos! Just had lunch here no longer than 5 minutes ago. What a waste of money! When I first saw the menu( $20 a burger or sandwich) I was taken back to be honest. I thought hey, inflation sucks but at least they come with fries. We ordered the Deep Forest Steak sandwich and the Better Beer Glaze Burger both with fries. Let me tell you, the burger was the exact size of a McDonald's McDouble! Did not taste any glaze or any flavor whats so ever! The steak sandwich was the same. A tiny excuse for a "so called" sandwich which once again lacked any flavor. Maybe my dog would have enjoyed it? Good thing we had crispy fries to enjoy right? Nope! Soggy little bits and pieces smothered in salt. The only redeeming feature were the deep fried mushrooms and my beer( served in a warm pint, but thats just knitpicking..).
