Rivas Mexican Grill #11 — Restaurant in Nevada

First this when we walked in was it was a nice small place with nice pictures of food on the wall. When ordering the person didn't really understand me. Then when he started taking my order I wanted a burrito with steak lettuce pico cheese and cream. The man said ok then when he put it all in my burrito came out to almost 20 dollars I asked why he said cause of the extra toppings a 1.50 for each extra toppings. That is crazy especially when I took off guacamole.which real Mexican burritos don't have that on them. So get home open my burrito and it's made wrong no cream no cheese only lettuce and pico. On top of that the burrito was smaller then all other Mexican restaurants I've been to. Then when eating the burrito the flavor wasn't that good and the meat was so tough that my jaw hurt after eating the burrito. This is one of the worst Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. I don't recommend this restaurant if people tell u otherwise they don't know good Mexican food. And that's only my food that I'm talking about if I get into my gf food it's just as bad. Food is overall very good, flavor has always been on point. Salsas are delicious with good heat level and are consistent every visit. Service has always been quick and friendly.

My issue is with the Wednesday $1.99 chicken taco special. The difference in the volume of chicken in the taco is not ok. On any other day you have double the meat than you do during the special. Robertos doesn't pull this neither does Habaneros or Don Tor Taco or Algobertos. It's really a rip off not a special, not enough chicken to fill the shell with a miniscule amount of lettuce, this is consistent over the last 3-4 visits.

I hope that this changes because I do love the food, and the team working this location have always been great, but if I'm being honest there is better value at other taco shops if you're looking to get your Tuesday or...

I had placed an order online through Riva's site for my partner to pick up. She arrived at the accurate time to just be told the order couldn't be found. They had no problem charging my card (and charging a service fee to use the site), but didn't notify me that the order wasn't fulfilled. She waited 25 minutes for the order to be made (and was told they couldn't refund the $3 service fee) and brought it home (we live 5 min away). It's awful. Tasteless, and we found 2 hairs in the beans. Places like this give small Mexican restaurants a bad name. Ponganse las pilas, Rivas!! Get it together. Take some pride in your food...
