Let me begin by stating, if I could give this place zero stars, I would. I have been coming here for years and this was the last straw.
So let us begin with sitting down at a booth, right next to the kitchen. There were three of us, my father, my grandmother and I. We waited five minutes for a waitress, and then my father had a business call he needed to tell that he will call back later, so that was the time the waitress decided to come up. She had said a usual waitress line, and i looked over to ask them if they were ready, and then she had repeated the same exact thing, as though I didn't hear it even though I acknowledged it. And when we gave our order, it was as though she wasn't exactly listening. Her name was Marisa.
So we ordered 3 waters, 3 shakes, and 3 steakburgers. We wait another 10 minutes, we have not received our water even. We see two workers in black shirts standing by the counter talking to eachother, and politely ask if we can get our waters at some point. They both nodded and then retreated to where they cannot be seen behind the counter. Then another waitress in the white shirt looked over at us, and a moment later the waitress that had been serving us, Marisa, came out with our food. Our food. Not our water. So we ask for the water again, and after I had watched her write it down in the beginning, went to go get them.
Now for the food. The steakburgers were good, but the burgers themselves were warm, not hot. And the fries were cold and stale. I wasn't as impressed, due to it seeming like an old burger. Marisa then brought us our shakes toward the end of our food, and mind you the place is NOT busy at all. Maybe a total of 8 tables out of a great many more. So halfway through the shakes, my grandmother is still eating, Marisa brings us the check and says she will leave it here when we are ready. To me, this seemed as though they were rushing us, even though we were clearly still eating and talking.
Overall, this experience was horrible. Out of all the times I have come here, this has to have been the worst. Poor service, poor food, at least the shakes were decent. If you are considering eating here, do not. It is not worth your money. Rather, choose the cafe that is in south point as well. It has really phenomenal...
Read moreLet me tell you about my experience. I am staying at South Point Hotel., my favorite place to stay. There are plenty of places to eat inside the hotel, across the street from the hotel, and down the street from the hotel. On this particular day about 4:30 p.m. my wife and I walked in and sat down in the restaurant. As we sat and waited for some attention we were greeted with nothing but stares. About 15 seconds later this grouchy old hag paraded through the dining area as if she owned it and was about to make a slam dunk in the NBA finals. She came over to our table and it looked like she was going to hand us some menus. Instead she said we need to get out and get in line. I asked what are you talking about? She says we seat people in the dining room here. She wanted us to go outside where there was a red marker in the hallway and no one standing. Additionally there was no sign saying anything to the effect of waiting to be seated. I laughed at her. Are you saying we have to go outside and wait in line where there's no one waiting? She said yes. I told her she can go to hell and we were going to go somewhere else to eat because there's no way we would ever spend our money there. Our $50 went toward a much more reputable and friendlier location. If there were negative five stars I would give it to you for the poor atmosphere that you created in that restaurant. The people that worked there look like they're in fear of you. You need to go find something else to do you hag because you are not a hostess by any means. Your people skills are poor and you are not a likeable person. You certainly shouldn't be dealing...
Read moreThis was my 1st time at steak n shake, and my last.
So please don't judge me but I had 2 burgers, with the fries and 2 milk shakes. I did it for ya'll, so that i can give a review that covers many items.
Okay so where do I start, I ordered the western bacon that supposedly has barbecue and the Swiss portobello burger. Both come with fries, the fries are not good nor bad, just plain thin fries and believe it or not but I enjoyed them more than the burger.
To start, the BBQ burger had about 2 grams of BBQ inside the top bun in the center. And to think, I lived in this world 31 years thinking the carls jr double western didn't have enough BBQ. But this one from the steak n shake was just a disappointment. I ate it and I don't even remeber if it had onion rings.
The portobello had the Swiss with the meat and mushrooms but I couldn't really gather the flavor. Felt like I had covid, it was missing something.
So I was left in disappointment. Moving on to the shakes.
So I ordered my personal favorite, the oreo shake and the butter fingers shake.
The oreo was solid. But the starw they provide is so thin that you can't comfortably enjoy the shake. You have to suck hard and it's just not fun.
The butterfingers one was okay. Not good, not bad. Just okay. It wasn't as think as the oreo one but it wasn't as good either.
In conclusion, I am retiring from eating here again. But I also want to add that I came here with a group and the memories and good times made...
