Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in New Albany

Correct me if I'm wrong, because it's been over 20 years since I've had one, but aren't the Blizzards supposed to be solid insomuch that the employee flips them upside down to demonstrate this? We stopped in this afternoon and ordered a large mint oreo and a small new York cheesecake blizzard each. When we first entered there was a guest standing at the counter waiting on his order. People we assumed were employees, as none had on any uniform of any kind, rushed about in a nearly empty store, ignoring us completely. The other guest informed the employee that his order was 'for here' which seemed to irritate them as they now had to go get a tray, which was dirty and offer it to him without so much as wiping the previous guests food particulates off. Finally the employee took our order, then wandered off to the section with the Blizzard making equipment. We watch for approximately 10 minutes as they place the store doing other things. I notice that they finally went to make our order after I made a comment to my partner about if they were ever going to make them. When they were placed on the wall haphazardly I noticed that there seemed to be something melted on the outside of the container. When we got the so called Blizzards they were the guests of ice cream that's sat out in the sunlight on a hot summer day, very mushy consistency and not even remotely frozen to the consistency of an actual blizzard. The service was appalling, the store was filthy, and the order was just all kinds of wrong. I'm not sure as to how this store stays...

I feel very bad for the employees who work here at dairy queen, they currently only have 3 workers while one is taking a lunch break. the drive thru worker is running back and forth between the ever busy drive thru and front counter, while the one cook is alone cooking all the orders. The atmosphere here is sad amd rushed my toast was floppy and was grilled with out butter my order was messed up. I received chicken for my kids meal in stead of the hot dog and I was missing my gravy from my chicken strip basket. I don't blame the employees tho I blame management. Management may save a little extra money not having to pay another worker during peak hours but customers that come are not gonna want to come back after the subpar service and having to wait for someone to notice them waiting because all the workers are already busy at their stations. Not to mention the Luke warm food and incorrect food orders. 99 percent of the time any milkshake or moolatte I get is thin Almost like water I thought about tipping the girl behind the counter just to hopefully increase my chances of getting a decent moolatte. The thing is I shouldn't have to think about Tipping a worker to receive an item made properly, that I have already paid for... maybe if the workers here had atleast 4 to 5 people working together the dinning room would be cleaner and the workers here would feel like smiling. My mother, great neice, and I decided we are going to have the blizzard of the month every month and keep notes on the blizzards until the end of 1 year. Then decide which ones we thought were best. We thought this would be a fun project to do together. So here is my report for the first review. The pumpkin pie blizzard has always been my favorite in the past, but I haven't had one in 3 or 4 years.... today my mother and I both had 1. I am not sure how much the recipe has changed but I'm not particularly fond of this one. Mine had too many crunchy things (I think it was cereal) in it and I don't remember it being like that. I thought it had chunks of pumpkin pie in the past 🤔. I give it a 5 out of 10. My great neice had the oreo hot chocolate blizzard Ibelieve she said. She thought it was good.... but to me oreo anything is always a safe bet. Anyway, there are 7 fall flavors so we'll be back soon, Dairy Queen!
