This place was a mediocre experience. The highest problem for me is the physical location. The place looks like a jail yard. You enter thru a narrow gate. The food truck and it's patio sit on fresh asphalt, completely surrounded by a 6 ft high black metal fence, topped with rings of barbed wire. The fences are blacked out with heavy tarps.
Inside all this high security you will find two hulking shipping containers and a lonely food truck. Industrial weight picnic tables painted in bright primary colors are set in two precisely spaced rows. The whole funky look will make you feel like you wandered into the recreation yard of a juvenile detention center.
The food is hot dogs, hamburgers and similar. I ordered three franks. The cook immediately grabbed a handful of uncooked weiners and dunked them. I silently hoped this wasn't my order. I should have went with the hamburger, which had a better chance of being fully cooked than those fridgefurters in his hand.
My bad. Minutes later I had three slightly warmed dogs in three unwarmed buns. Hot dogs are not a gourmet item, but you can definitely make a tube steak better by cooking it properly. This place did not.
Prices were reasonable. I won't be...
Read moreWas very disappointed this time around... The grounds were clean but smelt like cat spray, which makes it difficult to enjoy a meal. Had the New England Dog, which was great.. except for the fact this time around, the hot dogs were not the good quality beef like the last time.. These hot dogs were low quality pork ones.. the dogs themselves had no flavor, the linguica and cheese dog is just nasty.. sometimes I wonder if people try their own food before they put it on a menu.. the cheese literally tastes like plastic.. Asked for grilled, got steamed.. The fries? Well they may have been good, but who can eat fries without salt? I asked for salt for the fries, and was told they ran out.. it would've been nice to be told while placing the order, that way you have a CHOICE if you would like fries without salt or not, not just buying food to throw in the trash. Also, a simple apology would have gone a long way.. Never again for me .. too many great...
Read morePlace has a nice vibe to it. They were out of burgers so went with the hot dogs. You can tell they are using cheap bread. I've had hot dogs from many places around the city and they all use better bread. The marinara sauce for the mozerella sticks is also a very cheap tomatoe sauce (not good). I'd rather spend a few more dollars and get a better sauce with them.
That being said , I really think if they adjusted their prices (increased) and used better ingredients they would attract more people and motivate them to want to come back.
Good luck to this establishment, hope to see some improvements. This has...
