Scores Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in New Braunfels

I love Scores! Great bartenders and staff in general. All are very friendly. They have food as well which is tasty. There are plenty of TV's as they also have a stage for a band that is used when they have a band. They have a few games and pool tables. Visit this place and ask for Charlie the bartender, she ie Awesome!!! They have never said no to me when I go there to watch the Dallas Stars hockey! I don't always buy something and don't think for a second that I don't feel guilty about it because I do. Charlie is a bartender there and she is the sweetest little thing ever. She talks to me and makes me feel welcome everytime but so do the rest of the staff. Please go there and be part of someting great! Don't miss out... The last time I was there which was last week I think, to watch the Dallas Stars play they did a awesome remodel on their place and I applaud the owner for doing that. It cost money and yet he took the big leap and took the chance and as far as I am concerned, good for you Scores!!! You rock the place out for all of your patrons and I am very proud of you. If there are any Dallas Stars hocky fans here in New Braunfels then go there and support Scores, if not then it will be your loss no matter what you want to do there be it drink, eat or just want to hangout and visit, trust me you will not be disapointed... I call on ALL Dallas Stars fans to go to Scores both for the support of Scores and to make it the official Dallas Stars watching party place! Scores has much to offer as I have said above. It’s okay to go hangout and have a few drinks with some friends. However, even with my husband and I sitting at the bar, the bartenders took quite a while to make our drinks. They were more worried about a crowd at the end of the bar and socializing with everyone around us in the background. Instead of helping us they would help people around us, and they would pause when making our drinks to get other people their drinks who ordered after us. We must have waited about a good 20 minutes every time we need a drink. One of the bartenders was very friendly and social with other customers (I’m going to guess maybe regulars), but he wasn’t as social or friendly with us although he was still nice. There was an older gentleman behind the bar that seemed to be having a bad mood. He wasn’t smiling or socializing much at all and he wasn’t really helping any customers rather he was just doing a bunch of cleaning. There was another bartender lady who seemed to have a bit of an attitude. She was just tossing things around and looked very annoyed. It’s okay for a place to go have a couple drinks but not really a place to have fun or socialize with others or...

OK, I know this is a sports bar and when you think of "sports bar" it's about the Sports and the bottles behind the bar and the food is usually an after thought. Not here though. They have obviously spent some time and energy into developing a good menu. This place is a great local dive that many don't know about. If I rate this place as a restaurant, the 3 criteria that I use are 1. Food 2. Service and 3. Cleanliness/Atmosphere. Obviously, as previously stated the food was outstanding. I was very impressed with the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and Sweet Potatoe Fries that I got. The other person with me frequents the place and he LOVES their wings (apparently $0.75 every Wednesday) The service also exceeded expectations. The young lady that helped us was friendly and personable and not just an order taker. As far as Cleanliness and Atmosphere, I can tell that they spent some money, time and care into that as well.
