2tarts Bakery — Restaurant in New Braunfels

GO HERE! SO MUCH THIS!! THIS PLACE IS EV-UH-RY THING!! CAKES PIES AND COOKIES OH MY! FRITTATAS, PIGS IN PONCHOS, CHICKEN POT PIE EMPANADAS ALL WRAPPED UP IN A QUAINT LITTLE WHAT IM CALLING A "BOUTIQUE-ERY! It just doesn't get any more cute or kitchen than 2Tarts bakery. I was served by the cutest girl with freckles who made me think of the little red-headed girl with freckles on the Charlie Brown cartoon she was very pleasant very and nice. She had a very neat and clean appearance the entire bakery was immaculate. There was a very friendly woman stocking and there was a gentleman putting up Christmas lights on the day we went. They have the cutest little tchotchkes, journals notebooks pens just the sweetest little boutique bakery you've ever come across. I sat down and ate my strawberry cream pie which was like a really really fluffy whipped cake the flavor was there the strawberry was enhanced by the cream cheese the crust was good and flaky we sat outside and we had coffee and watched the locals go by and who knew that the women of New Braunfels were so beautiful and so fashion forward. another young girl with dark hair and glasses came out after every single customer walked away from their tables to sanitize every single one and the chairs. The whole experience was bar none the chocolate peanut butter pie wasn't experience to behold you bite it and you close your eyes it's so good. The chicken pot pie empanadas if you warm them up they are a truly comforting experience with a cup of coffee. I had this blackberry buckle style crumble cake and I almost wept from the goodness. The pigs in a poncho weren't the kolaches or the pigs in a blanket that were used to they're heftier more stick to your ribs it's a beautiful thick pastry that's well it's been a biscuit but more than just a bread. We had jalapeno sausage and cheese and they were phenomenal. The slice of frittata was to die for. Creamy smooth and Rich went well with my hot tea. TO TOP IT OFF ALL OF OUR BAKED GOODS WERE CAREFULLY WRAPPED AND GENTLY PLACED IN THE CUTEST PINK BOXES YOU'VE EVER SEEN. IT REMINDED ME OF THE MOVIES WHERE THE ACTRESS GETS THE PINK BOX FROM THE BAKERY WITH A GORGEOUS DELICACY INSIDE. THAT WAS ME ON THIS DAY!!!!! I could go on and on and on about the acquaintances the cuteness the friendliness and the beautiful nature of these people and the business they're running. When people say to patronize a small business because when you give them your money you can look at that person and you can know exactly that you're paying for the rent on their building you're paying for the groceries that go into their children and the gas they put in their car. This place is by all means worth giving your money to. Totally impressive for such a small quaint...

Pretty disappointed to be writing a review like this, but it has to be said I’ve been going to 2tarts for over two years now since I live in new Braunfels and I’ve been happy every time because I usually get their Keylime pie, or their peanut butter cookie, or a random cupcake (and pretty great merch). But I decided to be a little adventurous and this time I got two slices of their cakes that were in there display case. Now I am not stupid, and I realize that Kate can lose some flavor and texture and stuff after a while, being wrapped in a case like that, but I’ve had cakes that have been outside of the fridge for a week that have tasted better than that it basically just tasted like… Hard sugar?

I did enjoy the texture but that was it. I got the I believe blueberry almond I believe it was and a slice of their confetti that I tasted zero almond in the blueberry almond, and the blueberries were very unpleasant to chew on.

That was really disappointing because almond cakes are one of my favorites honestly, the confetti cake a that was just pure sugar, zero vanilla or buttercream or any other flavor. Pillsberry makes a supremely better funfetti cake, which is yes just a confetti cake, but it has a flavor to it even, after they change they made like two decades ago, still lasts.

If you want a good cake of either of these later flavors go across town and go to Nadler’s instead their almond cake was absolutely to die for in fact I ordered it for my wedding cake and I’m so glad I did because how I ordered from 2tarts I might’ve actually cried at my own wedding.

I also got one of those snickerdoodle cookies out of curiosity, and if that was a snickerdoodle cookie, then I’m a billionaire and trust me I am not a billionaire.

Finally, take the tip jar and the tip option off the screen at pay. If your employees need money that badly PAY THEM PROPER WAGES this is New Braunfels for eff’s sake and you are always busy so Lord knows you can.

Lord knows you charge quite a bit for everything you serve, merch or otherwise, and they deserve what they get because they are always pleasant and lovely and I’ve never seen the owners there a single time.
