I have been a customer of Spatola's for at least 30 years. I've never had any issues until the they opened the new building after the fire. Before the fire, a lot of the original staff worked there and no orders left there unless they were correct. Since then I've had at 4 or more incorrect orders. I didn't notice until I got home. We no longer live up the street so going back wasn't an option for me. I called once and the response I received wasn't what I expected. After that, if it was wrong. I've ignored rather than become aggravated. However, I think I'm going to move on to somewhere closer to my home. This past Friday my husband went in to pick up a tuna hoagie and was told that it was now 15.00 for something that was 11.00 the last time he purchased it. I understand prices have gone up everywhere but I felt like this was a bit steep. He asked for a menu so he could see the new prices and was told there wasn't one yet. If you are going to increase your prices at least wait until you can prove it. After a lengthy discussion with the young lady at the front he decided to go elsewhere. The customer service is just not the same which is sad. I gave them 3 stars because the food is good but I could order the same pizza two weeks in a row and it doesn't always...
Read moreCame in for a work lunch with colleagues. They told me they like the place because it's closest to work. I'm a pizza connoisseur so I was interested.
They had an impressive selection of pies in display case for a single slice orders. A couple of my friends ordered a salad which looked gigantic delicious and hearty topped with a nice amount of chicken.
I kept it simple with a plain and white slice. They did not have pepperoni available for some reason. The pizza has a nice New York style crust, good undercarriage, low flop. The cheese is very tasty. The sauce was mediocre. The white slice was nothing special.
The service was fast and efficient. They had nice seating options available, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I didn't take notice on the pricing because we expensed it on another's card.
I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. But I would return. This is still better pizza than all of the places in my town. Dave portnoy would rate in...
Read moreNEVER AGAIN! Thought I found a good pizza place only to have believe it or not a problem with the slicing of the Sicilian pie to go. One of the cooks a little guy with a smirk on his face and a wise guy look about him kept playing games cutting it in only 9 pieces instead of the usual 16 so when I placed my next order I asked for the 16 piece cut, Oh you want the double cut I said OK. Getting home only to find, believe it or not the pizza cut into 64 pieces. Ha Ha Ha very funny. It only makes you wonder how far or what this clown would do to your food to satisfy his warped sense of humor. It is a shame because in the year or so of dealing with them everyone else seemed very professional...
